I am putting a hilux diff in and can pick up a very low k's 4wd turbo diesel lsd one for $250. Is there any difference except for the 6 studs? Are the centres the same?

yes it will bolt on, the new Hilux turbo diesel has 3.72 ratio ring gear.

I was told the 4wd had bigger bearings and housing. Is this true? I looked on the toyota site and it said the ratio was 4.55.

The 4WD Hilux LSD center carrier is little different to the 2WD one, stronger & heavier, but it still can bolt on to the 2WD diff housing. For the ratio you can count the gears and find out.
