I'd hazard a guess and say yes... actually I'm pretty sure it would be...

A lot of speedos have a built in error , although Toyota ones seem to be very accurate when I have measured it. You know those 5km measured sections on the freeway... well 5km at 100km/h should take exactly 3 minutes.
If there is something wrong internally with your speedo, that won't always affect your odo, but usually would.

Chances are that it's off too... They both take their input from the same source...

Thats almost what mine uses, and urs has about 100kW on mine Razz

Averages between 11.5-13l/100km...and I guarantee you'll be putting the boot into your car a lot more than me...at least your car goes fast when you do it!!!

Yeah, yours will surely use mroe than mine, when your caning it...just normal driving should make it return heaps less than me.

And as for highway...even the Celica can return 8.9l/100km on the highway when I'm not even driving it that nicely...I'm sure the 1G could get low 8's or like Nark, into the 7's! Smile

I get 7's on the freeway and 11's around town.

Although if I stay on boost, the fuel consumption skyrockets.

MAX

I dont see why ur speedo would be right and mine wrong ??!!

both originally 4 cyl, now 6 cyl... and im sure u had to get a new manual transmission when u got ur conversion done...

ive been told that its because of the transmission, that the reading is wrong... so i need a ratio converter... WHY WHY WHY !?!?

why is this so !!

My speedo is off by 10%. But this is mainly due to the larger rear tyres.

I don't see why your speedo would be wrong if you have a different gearbox.... The gearbox will spin the input line at the same rate no matter what.... It would only be affected if you changed wheels or diff ratio...

Maybe I'm wrong in this, can anyone verify?

Possibly a different number of teeth on the speedo drive inside the new box?
