Want to write a tech article ?? Please look ...

hey y'all....
im just in the process of reformatting my website.
it was becomming such a pain in the ass to add material that didnt fit within the existing structure, that ive ditched the old menu system completely - leaving the new site structure totally open for practically any kind of article relating to any aspect of toyota tech...
SO...
I'm now putting it out to ANYONE who would like to have a tech article published on my site (yeah, big deal, i know!) to have a crack at putting together some words and pictures
lots of people on here have photos of conversions theyve done, and theres always a story that goes with it, it'd be great to get them all written down and put in one place it'd be great to get the site running with some real-world quality tech articles, that are worth reading...
some topics that come to mind include:
7mgte into ma61 (paul?)
1jzgte into ma61 (greg?)
1uzfe into ma70 (pete?)
1uzfe into mx83 (darren? ha!)
delco article (pete?)
1uzfe performance tech article (nathan?)
5mgte build (marty?)
5mte build (dave/sean?)
18rg tech article (karl?)
3t tech article (rod?)
other areas include:
brake upgrades
diff and axle upgrades
gearbox swaps and bellhousing issues
turbo upgrades custom plumbing layouts
i dont know much about the ae86 and the 4age etc, but please feel free to let me know about anything youd like to write, or like to see...
and this isnt a one off thing either - anytime anyone wants to write something, or if youve got pics of stuff youve done that would go well in the site, im open all hours...
anyway, let me kno what you think
cheers
ed

Very VERY good idea!
I'm not much of a guru, but I can donate "how to repair a heater fan resistor" when I get some time.

Seriously, do you want one about replacing the heater core? I can write one of those, I've already got most of the pictures...I've had to do it once.

Not much point in me doing a 7MGE article. Mine's probably going to be fairly similar to yours anyway. Hopefully next week we can flow the head and see what our starting point is. Then we decide on cams and whatever else to suit.

dave, if you wanted to write up something on the triple webber assembly, that would be a good read. any word on that flange btw ?

I have website-destroying amounts of info on my RAV4 project so far! And it's only just over the ½-way mark... the BIG stuff is yet to come.
Are you sure you wanna cater for something like my modifications on your website? How much space do you have?

I know there's another RAV4 driver that also has started visiting these forums as well, and originally hails from the RAV4World.com forums. There's one mind that could be put to work, although there's 2 generations of RAV4's so far, and I'm not sure which one he drives.
See, mostly my modifications so far have been 'cosmetic', and hardly any 'technical' or 'mechanical'. So basically you could say I'm running around in a bog-stock RAV4 that looks pretty and still goes faster than your average speeding bullock, only just. Only thing of real engine-bay value thus far, most people on the Dyno Day would have seen already... the Cold Air Intake. I know most of you would say 'big deal' to that, although the idea and the concept would be fascinating. Unless you want to 'pretty-up' a RAV4 with a lot of outside-value goodies, there's not that much that I could contribute to your site, that isn't already on my thread in the Member's Rides forum, which I'm sure you've already read through.
Tell me, in that thread, is there anything on my vehicle so far, of all the modifications that have been accomplished, that no one would turn their nose up at? I know the general concensus of most Toyota modifiers so far, and that is "it looks great and *now* it sounds half-decent... but it's a RAV." It's that harsh reality that steps in because it doesn't have the heritage or respect that would be earned with other Toyota's like the Crown, Corolla, Supra or Celica... all synonymous with aftermarket mods in this arena. The RAV4 just doesn't qualify in these stakes - not yet... even though I'm driving around in one of the 10 most influencial cars of the last century (as quoted in an American magazine article).
Instead of me putting forward my modifications on a RAV4, I'd invite other people to visit the http://rav4world.com/ forums and check out all the DIY's that can be done with our cars. I think a few of you would be more than fascinated by what some of the people from around the world have done with you 'average' RAV4.
Let me know if you're still interested in my input for 'modifications' on your website.
Cheers.

Possibility for tech article.

Hey hows it going.
A friend and I are thinking of doing a BUDGET drifter setup with a ke70 corolla.
We will be covering everything from extracting power from the standard engine with the likes of turbos and superchargers, then will consider a complete swap to a later engine in the search for more power(if needed).
We will cover the needed suspension and brake modifications that will be needed to make the car driftable.
Would you be interested in putting this information on ur site as it becomes available?
BTW what is the address of ur site?
I hope to hear from u soon.
