i have asked alot of people about this and they all said that it is crap. hope you guys can help me out.
i want to purchase a twin turbo engine for my mk3 supra. it claims to be a 2.0 liter 24 valve twin turbo... and claims to have 400 hp!
tell me if im just getting ripped off cause i really want to get it.
this is how it is advertised on ebay
-------------------------------------------------- ----------
You are bidding on a jdm twin turbo engine from an 1988 toyota supra. Engine is a 2 liter 24 valve dual overhead cam six. ENGINE COMES COMPLETE WITH THE TWIN TURBOS, FAN SHROUD, W58 BELLHOUSING to mate up to any w58 found in 86-92 supra non turbo, 82-86 supra 5m, 82-84 celica 20 and 22r or w58 trucks. COMES COMPLETE WITH INTERCOOLER AND INTERCOOLER PLUMBING AND ECU AND HARNESS. INCLUDES FAN AND FAN SHROUD. These twin turbos are the same ones found on the jza-70 1jz engines supras and one of the two ct12's found on the big brother 2jz jza-80. These turbo can flow over 400 hp stock. The twin turbos alone are worth a lot of money. Think of the potential! Brackets and sensors are all there. May consider a trade for an aluminum 7m driveshaft and aluminum 7m flywheel or a complete r154 driveshaft tranny flywheel master and slave cylinders and ecu to convert form auto to 5spd Everything you need to eliminate that non turbo 7m 5m 4m or 22r engine. for those of you with a w50, change to a w58 and you will be good to go. EVEN HAS INTAKE PIPES AND AIRFLOWMETER. Blow the doors of off weak 22r 4runners and trucks. Tear up those non turbo supras. For those who buy it now, i will include a perfect white hood for a mkiii with the auction. I have other parts, just let me know. Thank you for viewing my auction. Happy bidding and good luck.

I find it hard to believe that the CT12 out of 1JZ or 2JZ could push 400hp without dying real quick.
May be possible. I'm not an expert on turbos. But sounds a bit optimistic to me.

I'm no turbo expert either......but if the stock CT12a's on a 1jz can "flow over 400Hp" why are there so few 1jz powered cars on standard turbos with 400Hp??.
If mine could do that so easily I wouldn't thinking of moving to a bigger single turbo!
And really...who want's to beat NA Supras with a turbo-ed car. If it was that good it could beat most 7m turbo and 1jz-gte powered Supras....I don't see that promise being made anywhere in the sales pitch!

A Supra is too heavy for a two litre, turbos or otherwise. Save your money and put a real engine in it
How much are you looking to spend?

Going by the wording of that advertisement it sounds like the engine is located in the US. It is trus that US-spec 2JZ turbos are capable of 400hp (admittedly that's optimistic US horsepower). However, don't be fooled into thinking that the 1G-GTE turbos are anything like the 2JZ-GTE turbos, which is what the advertisement seems to be implying! 1G turbos start getting inefficient once you push them above 250hp...
