What condition were your engines in that you bought from SSS automotive?
Where they missing anything? Lots of K's? In need of a rebuild?

hey dude,
SSS motors are very good... i've had a 4ag and a 4agze from them.. both went for ever and got a hard time.

Now i'm in a 1jzgte bought from SSS over 18 months ago... and its been flogged and i mean flogged and its still going strong as too!!

Those guys personally drive the motors or test them before they come over , so u can rely on them to be good.

I've not gone to see the boys for a long time at SSS mainly cause the motor they sold me is so damn good! So yeah, its worth it.

Yeah ... haven't bought a motor from them but rather a rear AE86 diff in the past - must say that their service is good and delivery times are fast.

Can't see why not. Freight is freight as long as you're paying for it.

I have spoken to SSS on the phone a few times now this week and they are fuckin rude on the phone.
I ask for some brake calipers of a certain type and they ask why I want them, so i tell them i'm doing a brake package for my celica and the guy says "nah mate you just need these cheap and nasty pieces of shit we cant sell, they'll do the job". I replied with nah mate you can keep them and put em on ya skateboard.

Other than that, their products are good.

people ive spoken to on this forum have given them a bad rap in the past, but ive been there a few times and found them to be pretty good. their helpful and know their stuff. most of their prices are pretty good, except for intercoolers they were over priced i found one private for approx 1/4 the price. but if you need a steering wheel they are very cheap there.

Hi Guys,

I found it hard to deal with SSS for the following reasons:

I went in requesting a W58 gear box and they told me there was no difference between this W55 they had in stock and a W58, "so just buy this one" they said to me. So they will treat you unfairly if you do not know exactly what you are talking about, ie. take advantage of you. I would definitely not freight from them as I find them unworthy and dishonest.

Your best to go and look at the parts yourself.

I did buy a CT-26 turbo from them that was in fantastic condition, so just inspect before you buy and Buyer Beware.

May be they have improved in the last 18 months, I wouldn't know I don't buy there anymore.

i deal with sss all the time

never have any problems

the best thing is they have complete sets, they take the time to pull everything out
not like other importers and cut off all the hoses and wiring

they have very good quality engines
i have wired up about 20 to 30 of their engines and no probs so far

I have spoken to them a few times but only over the phone, they seem helpful but are way over priced. Maybe it just because they get pestered on the phone all the time they just quote rediculous prices, maybe if i went in there to see them and said "ok i got cash hook me up" it'd be different.
But less than 2 weeks ago they quoted me $7500 for the ST205 half cut they got sitting there.

I found in my dealings with them that it depends on who at SSS you talk to. I guess this is why some people have really good experiences and some have bad. I always found they were great if you go there in person, but they can get a bit difficult when talking to them over the phone - and I bet its because they cop crap over the phone a lot. Their stuff is pretty good quality, but you do sometimes pay a bit more.

ever stood there at sss?? The phone rings about 3 times per second.

If you want to do some wacky conversion or brake set up, go down and talk to the guys in person. I'm sure a lot of wankers ring them up saying i'm gonna do this and that, and never hear from them again... just go down and talk to them in person, its too easy and they are extremely helpful.

i agree with Luke, i have had much better service from SSS when i have gone down there in person, compared to being on the phone.

I feel its the same with everyone, dont jerk someone around and they'll be happy to give you the full service you deserve. Cool

I've had 2 18rg's, a20v, w57, c52, a half cut, and 2 e153 from them.

Never had anything but excellent service.

Good delivery times, nothing ever missing, always got exactly what I asked for. Even took the time to call me when some parts I *may* have been interested in came in.

However, If you'd like to experience some F*CKED service, try Adelaide Jap Dismantlers, ask for Cocksucker (if f*ckwit isn't available), and tell em I sent ya. Very Happy
