HELP! WTB: 4AGE Alternator/Waterpump Parts Wed, 09 July 2003 03:32 Go to next message
Need the following

4AGE RWD (AE86) Alternator Mounting bracket, and bolts
4AGE RWD (AE86) Alternator

Also, can anyone tell me:

What waterpump do i use ... I gather there is a FWD and a RWD 4AGE waterpump? Part numbers would be sweet

TIA (I searched and got all confused)

EDIT: I have a RWD 4AG in the celica, but the conversion (done before I bought it) is dodgy as ... stripped threads and broken studs everywhere ... whoever worked on it was a real loser.

I have the alternator (i think its a 2T alternator) dodgied up on the exhaust side, and im guessing the RWD waterpump. I run Thermofans. The crank pully is V belt engine side, and serpentine pully radiator side.

Yesterday the charge light came on, and im yet to determine if it's the regulator in the alternator or the charge light playing up. I want to fix the whole lot in one go. Smile

these are very very hard to get.
i am having the same problem

what you can do is use a FWD setup and remote mount the thermostat. that looks to be the way i'm travelling with my ta22

if the alternator is a 2T one then i'd check your voltage regulator which should be on the side of the bay next to the battery. this could be at fault.

Thanx for the reply grega.

Are the brackets just hard to get second hand? I havent asked toyota yet, but I will tomorrow. I will endeavour to go and have a peak at another AE86 tonight, and figure out exactly what I need.

i think you can get them new from toyota, but, be prepared for a shock.

maybe consider a GZE bracket i think they mount them low on the zorst side?

I'm with Grega. The are really difficult to locate nowadays. Thanks to some advice I have ended up using a 20V alt bracket and tensioner guide. Lines up perfectly. See if any wreckers are parting out silver 20v's.

WRT the water pump, just walk into a toyota dealer and ask for 16110-16010 or 16110-19155. 19155 is the updated version.

Sorry to jump in but wouldn't a 4ac water pump to the job, or are the weaker in some way. Apart from having a V belt pulley i don't see any difference.
