RA40 brake and strut help

Hey all
I have RA40 struts in the front of my AE86 with custom coil overs and so on.
im looking for a simple brake upgrade that uses the same strut but has vented disk.
i was thinking about 2000GT RA40 brakes as these are vented but DBA dont even list them.. makes me think parts would be too hard!
anyway... i want to do away with the solid disk and go vented.
IDEAS most greatful people

Dude, come and check out my Celica some time. RA23 struts are the same as RA40 so what I did applies to you. I have MA61 rotors and calipers, and it stops like nothing else. Cheap upgrade too!

I paid $2-300 for a pair of MA61 struts from memory, but you could probably pick up RA6x brakes for less at a wreckers. The hubs and rotors bolt on but you need to fabricate a backing plate for the calipers. Note you'll also end up with a slightly wider front track; from memory the hubs are about 9mm wider.
I have a complete write-up here:

Norbie's setup is the right idea. The only quibble would be the drill holes to fold the plate - they make it a bit weaker just where you actually want some extra strength. You could get it folded with a folding machine - wouldn't cost much extra.

Nup, no mods to steering arms or any other suspension components. All you're replacing is the hub, rotor and caliper.
If you like I can pull one of the backing plates off my Celica (easy job) and you can have it copied.
