WTB Toyota - up to $7k to spend
|

In about a month ill be out and lookin for a car to buy.
Would like a Toyota Corolla... but also interested in MR2's.
Do you guys reckon i could get a levin or trueno with 7k?
with 7k what choices do i have?
i would prefer a RWD but not absolutely necesary, as i also like AE92's.. 90-92 Model Corolla SX's.. mainly hatch's.
cheers.
ps. this will be my first car. so a car that hasnt got much to do to it to nothing to do to it is preferred.

You won't really get a Trueno or Levin JDM AE86 for that price but if you expand your range, there is one damn fine looking TA23 for sale with EFI that's within your budget on these forums.
An AW11 MR2 is also within reach so that is something to consider but parts are hard to find these days and many examples are thrashed.
If you also consider a FWD, $7k could get you a souped up AE82 with maybe even a 4AGZE but insurance could be your downfall then.
Wished I had that amount of $$$ to blow on a 2nd Toyo ...
Good luck!

If you're reffering to Joe's TA23, I would get that car in a heart beat if I had the money.

Ahem ... not as expensive as yours - I have finally reached my limit where I reckon it's time to start enjoying her and stop spending big bucks on her ... at least it hasn't blown beyond the $15k mark ... yet ...
Only thing I foresee spending from now on after the new motor's in is just an LSD unit - even then, I want to at least read my car's communication before whacking one in.
Yeah ... That's the TA23 I was referring to ... really growing onto me they are ...

Im still lookin around for a AE86 Trueno, Yet Ive been Offered More than a couple of times from friend of friends On Aus Spec Sprinter with a quite low price of $2500 to $4000.. BUT I WANT A TRUENO!!!!!
With all the vast endeavors ive commited in search of this car, i came across to a friendly importer from J-spec from www.J-spec.com.au based on sunshine... and they have told me that even these cars are held at Cult Status blame it on "INITIAL D" (pretty cool anime) that the cars themselves starts from a merely Y150,000 (AUD$2000) to Y300,000 (AUD$4000) to a hefty Y600,000 (you work that out!! ) BUT!!! theres the importing fees such as Shipping costage and compliance etc... where it would get ya another exact amount of the car you just bought!!!
So yeah im just gotta get a couple of K's more i ill see what can i do with these deals they have...

Easy in the words there pal,
As far as ive known that if i get that Crappy Auspec its gonna get me from $2000 to $3500 max, since this car is becoming a Trueno wannabe so i will need a 4Age engine just to match up with the jap spec and that touches from $1000 to $1400. now for the wheels hmmmm... RS8 Watanabe Rims hmmmm now where can i get those, just to make it look like a real Trueno... i pressume theyre only $400 or less for a set of four from some jap dood who just trashed his Trueno back in Akina and now for the "Conversion" youre talking about, now you tell me the price of that "Conversion" and also to notice you that i dont have a garage to fit the wheels and motors in, so looks like gotta get this done to a nearby mechanic for that one at a separate cost and ow yeah i forgot... the [TRUENO] badge hmmm still dont know how much they cost but i betcha its still quite a hassle just to get one .
PS: Youre not one of those Idiots who puts a TypeR sticker even though your car isnt?
PS2: You probably cant read or something, as i mention b4 i want a Trueno, not a 4AC'ed crap heap.. Genuine things are better.
SIGH.... Gone back Trueno Hunting..

ur still an idiot...
good luck to u... i hope u don't kill urself drifting off a cliff....
i don't own a type r car so why would i put a type r badge on it?
Initial D is a cartoon... the ae86 is a shit heap if u don't know what ur looking at...
as i said...
it would be cheaper to pick up a 4ac aus spec sprinter... chop the front and put a trueno front on it, and wack in a 4age engine then it would be to find ur precious original trueno...
good luck finding ur trueno
btw whats ur budget?

Ok Dimwit,
For the time bieng my Finance is currently @ $6500, now that answers youre question.. 1k next forthnight yay!! and only willing to spend 6k for it..
How would you know that my knowledge of this car is based on that Anime Called Initial D...
Let me tell you somethin' Nit-Wit, i knew the car b4 i found out about initial D's existence, since a relative of mine have owned one of these back in 92 in America.. and Oh its a Corolla GTS... i only had a few glimpse of that anime a couple of times. And another thing... im not a big fan of Drifting, you dickhead.. why would i spend a hell lot of money on an old car, beef it up and do something stoopid enuff to kill you and your car..
But in one part you are right, yes, the Trueno or Sprinter isnt a Beast nor Crap-Heap, but it can be one or the other, which i care less, since im not a Rev-Head..(yet)
The reason why i wanted an original Trueno is that not many ppl have it around and even know of its existence, i have friends whos into cars and that never heard of it.. need something diffenrent!! and its appreciation at the moment so its value stays good plus it all have to be original.. it wont be later on.. Its goin to be a project for me later on maybe next year.
Hmmm you still havent told me about the conversions costs, If you can tell me then im all ears.. then can there can be peace btw me and you or maybe not.. coz that could go for the other car!!!
Goin back Trueno Hunting...
BTW Takumi_Ku Do you have an AE86??
HAVE YOU EVER HEARD OF A RUF?

how about you two schoolboys fuck off and scratch each others eyes out somewhere else? you really are redefining 'dickhead' in this thread. no matter how often it is pointed out that self-obsessed morons like you two ruin these forums with your inane "my-dad-is-better-than-your-dad" comments and repetitive posts, you return to cut and paste. how about you go practice your three-point turns or something???
... on the freeway would be a good spot.

a conversion is only a couple of thousand (3-4) which will still be within u rbudget if u can pick up a sprinter for 2-3 thousand...
good luck finding an original trueno in australia for $6500 coz if u do i'll offer above u as my budget is higher... hehe but as i said, ur better of doing a sprinter conversion... and it will be cheaper...
i do own an ae86 atm... but its not in good knick, perhaps thats why i'm a little bitter at ppl like u...
i made the email account when i was naive and stupid about driving... i've learnt a lot since i made the account so that explains that
i appoligize for being rude but i just get frustrated at ppl thinking they can pick up ae86 truenos for such a cheap price

.............. HAHAH!!! PEACE MAN!!!
BTW Takumi_ku lolz youre like an another drone lolz.... like me!! but im an excellent bargain hunter strictly for trueno (jokes) its really possible for a trueno to pass a 6k despite its conditions.. so yeah.. i dont mind the cars flaws as long its not cancerous like lots of rust or dents etc...
But you can you be a bit more specific on this conversion, as in where can i get contact from the guys who can actually do it, who knows i may end up getting an Aus-Heap after this trueno bizz is out of the way (or sold).
plz, need new leads on this conversion.
thankz
PS: as for you NOMINATOR, you really are redefining the word 'FUCK' in this thread, which make me say, well F(*& you too, why dont you F^($ off somewhere and mind your F%^$'n Business You F$%@^'n Retard!!! You Rude F$#^'n Bastard!!
