ke70 info needed :) Thu, 10 July 2003 12:53 Go to next message
Hi, im after some info re: the ke70 corolla's.

Ive scoured the net looking for pics of the ke70's and cant seem to come up with anything at all!!

My plans are to fit an LPG powered 13Bturbo to it, using the 13BT gearbox, and also a hilux rear end.

Has anyone done a 13B conversion before, or a similar diff conversion?

The diff isnt a real worry, but im not sure how wide the trans tunnel will be.

Is the fuel tank in these cars in the boot (up against the back seat) or under the floor in the rear?

What year did they come out?

Im mainly interested in some pics of the engine bay, boot, and some various interior shots.

I will be going out to look at them this w/e hopefully, but i may not have the time as i have to help a mate with his car.

Hope you guys/girls can help me out.

thanks Smile

p.s. i already have the entire LPG system for the car and crossmembers, radiator, oil cooler etc etc. so im ready to go. Smile

p.p.s. if anyone is after some rx parts, i wrecked an ex-rally 626 that had a full cage, rx5 box and locked s3 diff (but has s2 stud pattern).

Ke70s weight around 900kg right? And a 13bt is classes as a 2.6L turbo engine. So in qld that would be illegal but I have heard that the VIC laws are a bit more lenient in regards to engine conversions. Best to check with an engineer though!

there is a fair bit of stuff around, but might be better to just measure one up. it's still ahrd to see from pics.
engine bay is huge. i've seen roatries in KE20's and i reckon i could fit in the KE70 bay with the 13B in there as well Wink

trans tunnel is okay, might be tight to fit a W box, but unsure.. tape measure.

fuel tank against seat

years? typically 81-83.

pps?? i'm looking for a S2 RX7 rear disc, caliper and backing plate to try and fit to a 69 corolla Wink

"hicam" is just a snazzy way of saying "we don't have an OHC yet, but the cam is halfway up the motor, but we'll have a 4AC soon"

the 'hicam' 4K is the same as all the others.

i have not seen a TE71 that says 'hicam' but would be interested in pics.
