Just grab a second hand item! It will work out half the price and half the hassle!

And then you can give me our old one!
I've actually alked a couple of places about reco'ing a T50, and they all said $800. So second hand might be the way to go.

They are easy gearboxs to rebuild. If you have a manuanl and some technical knowledge you could do it yourself. I helped a friend do his on the weekend and i have never done one before. Just remember where the indentsface in the last synchro slider because we put them in the wrong way and i got stuck in fifth.

We did not replace the synchros but it only cost us $200 for all the bearings except one of the centre ones. COuld not fid it. We couldnot find those indents i talked about either had to use others from another gearbox.

i am in the middle of re-coing my 3rd T50.. there not hard.. probly the BEST box to work on..... all you need is a 14mm (i think) socket... snapring pliers... and a good hammer( ) Syncros are about $30 each from memory, and the 3rd sync. is apparently the only weak thing of the box (and most used). Get a book for the box.. and it takes you through step by step... if you hit a snag.. give us a yell.. and ill see if i can help. Youll save a bundle, so you can afford beer whilst doing the job..

Hey Josh, if you want some help doing it, I'd be happy to lend a hand & see how it's done, as I plan to do the same to mine eventually.
