whats your all time favorite toyota engine, give reasons too {dont everbody say 2JZ either}
Mines my current 18RGU, reason; haven't driven any other, so its the best so far

I would have to say i love the 4A series of engines... they are just so rev happy. But lets face it.. toyota dont really make anything other than quality.

Definately the 4AC!!
It was so good they even passed on the idea of putting the bluetop into the Aus. Spec AE86!! 
But seriously..... I love the 4E-FTE!! Its a tough little engine!
And give me that V12 outta the Toyota F1 cars!!

I love the 4AC, mine even went to 8000rpm  but it is now no longer alive!

personally I love the 1jz. ok so it's not quite the beast the 2jz is, but it revs much more happily, and it sounds racier. the 2jz tends to sound rumbly (yes, I know it all depends on the exhaust/muffler, but holding everyhting else constant)

let's face it. if you're going n/a, you want a v12.
nothing else screams quite so nicely.
I was going to say at high rpm, but it acheives max power at 5600rpm!!
even the 1uz revs up nicer than that... what's the go?
my 1jz acheives max power at about 7000

 no... i have still been trying to save $$ for the parts i need, or find a cheap ze engine..
i have just got a few more hours at work while one bloke is away on holidays for 2 weeks, so that will hopefully make my pockets a little heavier..
the whole car looks like i just got it from Saddam Insanes private collection after the bombing, at the moment.....

I'd have to say the 7MGTE, but i've only had a few different toyota engines (18R,18RC,18RU and 3S-F) mind you the 18R was a strong reliable engine. But since the 7MGTE with a re-torqued head there's nothing that compares, well not that i've expierienced yet.

As far as jaw dropping Toyo's I'd have to go with gianttomatoes 2jz-ge in the mark1....
Its already pictured twice in this thread so scroll up and have another drool 
GT- Please give all off us in the general toymods community some more info on this beast

I'm one of the privileged few who's been for a spin in GT's monster. Here's a quick rundown:
- atmo 2JZ-GE engine
- it's loud
- six throttles
- it's loud
- Motec injection
- it's loud
- big frickin side pipe
- did I mention it's loud?

daves beast if you wont to call it that has triple motec throttles 48mm and special inlet and extractors the rest is std and is running a motec M800 ,im still working on his other cylinder head that he had ported ,and this head has shim under buckets and dual valve springs and 11mm cams to finish it thats next years motor

three options:
- fabricate an oval from three sections of 3" alloy tube (kinda crab welded)
- flare a piece of 3" dia cromo tube into an oval at one end
- see if a truck place has a 4.5" to 3" rubber reducer connector; heat it and form the 4.5" end into the right shape and slide it over
hopefully one of those options wil work

Well at one stage I owned 5 18R-C and one 18R-G. I'm really taking a liking to this 18R'G even though it's in pieces and yet to be driven but it looks so big and strong compaired to my brothers 4A that's sitting next to it. I can't believe how crappy and small that 4A is.

4T GTE as run by Dan Gurney in GT Prototype Celica. Looks like a 3T but 2.1 litre. In race form it made 675 HP. Just what a certain Yellow car needs.

You'd have to say that it'd be between the BEAMS II 3S-GE, 2JZ-GTE, and 3UZ-FE.
Personally, I have a lot of respect for the 3S-GE. 75kW/L from an N/A with Toyota reliabilitiy built in.

1JZ-GTE!
I own one ... but have never driven one .... yet
I'm trying hard not to think of it as the poor man's 2JZGTE.
And I've got a ton of respect for the old 3SGE's - my wife's car (and my daily driver) ripps around with a 3SGE powering the front wheels. And they have a realy nice sound in factory tune.

Gosh! Thanks for the kind words.
Pretty much everything has been covered by Norbie and Glenn. It's a stock 2JZGE, with 48mm individual throttle bodies and mandrel bend extractors. It's all controlled with a Motec ECU. It's in a Mk2 Corona coupe. The final tune hasn't been finished (due to a range of teething problems), but it puts down about 130-135 rwkw at the moment. There is still 1000 rpm worth of rev reange to explore, and a whole bunch of extra ignition to add in, so hopefully it might see around 140 rwkw. Irresepective, I'm happy with how it goes - it makes for a significant improvement over the old 4M!!!
I have actually just finished writing a little blurb for Ed's website, so look there in a couple of weeks for a bit more detail.
As for my favorite Toyota engines - it's the one that started the romance for me, the 3M.

LOL. More than you think... Looking at your 2JZ, you've done a lot of the stuff I'd LOVE to have the time/money to do to mine - ie. ITBs, Extractors etc. Oh, and the time to get in on a dyno and properly tune it... With all that done, 200RWKW should be a snap!
