Dodgy defecting

I just got done in on Satudrady night.
Listen to this. We were crusing and he pulled all of us over bout 6-10 cars.
He comes to me first and checks my car. Makes me do the whole pinksilp routine, ie lights brakes..etc..
Then he looks in the engine bay.
1) Exaust not complying (did not even have the car on while he was checking and no DB meter)
2) Engine induction - not standard(pod filter)
3) Plastic filter fitted to injected motor - not standard (catch can, top rocket cover to throttle body, which is to stop burning oil!)
4) Oil leak (now that shtis me, it's a new conversion and the CV's have spit abit of grease on the heat guard. i took a look and there is no oil leaking at all!)
5) Non Standard Pedals (Mine have rubber bits in between them)
Then here's the ultimate. Fine of $102 for oil leaks! - my car has no leaks!!. They put 2 days for me to clear it!!!!
The dodgy copper didn't even put down if i need to get a pink or blue slip! He even asked me if i had an engineer's certificate.
how do you see an oil leak at 12:40am in the morning????

if a cop doesn't like you, he can do what he likes
basically makes you go through the hassle of clearing all the defects (which for you should be fairly easy)
your only major hassle (assuming the catch can is legal) will be the exhaust
you'll prolly be required to pass an emissions test. this is basically what cops defect you for if they cant find anything else/want to cause you the most hassles... unless your car was making an awful noise when he pulled you over... then you probably asked for it (no offence)

I got done for speeding and my front P plate...
I was speeding so there's nothing I can do in that department but I will try to escape the P plate fine... The entire P letter bit is showing but the no plate covers maybe 4 square centimeters of the white part of the p plate... Another Cop told me that it would be legal if I was to put them like that...
My back P plate has the majority of the P letter showing and even more of the white part under the number plate... He didn't say anything about the rear one ...
So yeah, I don't see anything wrong with how I had the front one so they can ...

I was at Taern point at the time.
And on the night i was not making any noises. The only thing was that we were together with friends.
My car is a 20v corolla with factory 20v headers, a high flow cat, 2 reasonators and a canon style exaust. COmpared to the Type Rs that night I was the most quietest one there! I was not making much noise on the night i assure you. When he made all of us stop I was the car at the back furtherst away from him. He told us "you are doing the community a great favour" and told us to switch our cars off, come out stand in front of the car with our licenses. He approached me first.

and get back into some good wholesome vandalism
they wont be happy until we drive around in standard cars being forced to find "other hobbies"
Im giving up on cars and picking up D&D.. id like to see a cop trying to defect me for having a non-standard 12 sided dice.

This is a great thread!!
I must say that Revenue raising really does seem to be the only real thing occurring here. I could go on but NSW police basically care about two things
1. Violent crime
2. Raising money through fines
If it is not violent or you pay money then the cops don't really care. Same reason why the fraud squad has gone from 40 officers to 2 in the last ten years - there is no money (for the gov/police) or violence in fraud!
Very true Draven, for the most part it is all to waste your time clearing your defects.
Phew!!

nah
if you get into d&d you get psychotic religious fanatic neighbours attacking you with holy water. maybe less demonic chanting and screams of "we worship satan" might have prevented that
I've never been defected (thank god), but from the stories I hear it is either revenue raising or simply the cops not liking a young male in a modified car. and by "modified" in this case I mean anything that doesn't come as a factory option.
of course, the 2 times I've been pulled over in my supra I've had a busted tail light they could have defected me for (but didn't), and on one of the occasions it would have been obvious I had an aftermarket exhaust (but thankfully that wasn't with the hwy patrol)

I've been pulled over and questioned about my stock wheels which the cop rekons were " non-stock looking " since they lacked hubcaps.
And calling a police man a " f-ing knob " really just makes things worse.

I must say, I've never quite had the balls to do that
mainly 'cause if they're annoyed they can (criminally) gharge you for that
a better idea is to say "that a fucking stupid idea"... you can do anyhting except criticize the actual officer (only recommended if you know your car is 100% legal and you've done nothing wrong. otherwise they'll bend you over and give you the treatment)

guns aren't what worry me (when carried by a cop anyhow)
if they pull a gun you claim emotional trauma and all that bs and file an official complaint

All that you need to do is to say "I THINK you are a f**cking knob..." as everyone is entitled to their own opinion and they can't do shit...

Only the rich are entitled to their own opinions. We the plebs do what we are told. I guess this whole issue is the classic 'the few spoiling it for the many'. All it takes is a few residents to say there were loud cars cruising around after midnight and the cops will move in and clamp down. If you return the following week and get defected again, I doubt you will return for a third week so the locals will be happy.

Dude that sucks
i got fined and defected earlier this month at about 9.30 12-7-03
the undercover pigger pulled me over and fined me for driving causing excessive noise thats $206 and 2 points. Then the prick inspected my whole car and gave me defects for my rims, oil leaks and exhaust noise. I was soo ready to go up to the pig and ask to look under his bonnet for oil leaks because come on most cars would have at least a tiny spot of oil. Fark.
i mean my oil leak was that small it was ridiculous.
If anyone is interested the set rules that cops can fine you for is here... http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/rulesregulations/downloa ds/review-of-fines-and-demerit-points%20.pdf
did you know that you can get a $49 fine for riding your pushbike aggresively??
its a laugh

When I was younger one of my friends got fined $70 for riding I bike with no seat. Doesn't seem like much but the seat had just been stolen from the bike at a shopping centre. This didn't mean shit to the cop, he insisted that my friend push the bike home! (about 10km of mountain roads)

Burnout is what they book you for in the first place.
Aggrivated burnout is what you do when you leave after getting the fine.
Laos road rules from friends who just killed a chicken with their motorbike:
Pay for replacement chicken and income lost until replacement produces same no of eggs.
What happens if you kill a person? Just buy one at a celebrity auction?
