Does anyone know whether either Toyota or other made a remote shifter for the T50 gearbox? I am building a Westfield clubbie and need to have the gearstick about 300mm back towards the rear. If there isn't a part that fits, can anyone suggest a workable arrangement?

cheers

Bob

I sure as hell can't think of anything toyota made that put the gearshift back a foot from the end of the box

BUT, if you were to cut the stick off just above the box, and weld a suitable stiff piece of flat bar onto it, then weld a gearstick onto the end of that, it might just work, so long as you're careful to make sure there's no slop in the arrangement. On my car I've done the same thing to move the gearstick on a 45 degree angle to the box (bloody dellows bellhousing!!), although admittedly mine's only about 2 inches long, not 12

Have a go at least, you don't have anything to lose I don't suppose...

having looked at my t-50 a while back, id say it should be possible to lengthen the rod with the cube of steel wit hthe "hole" for the bottom of the gear stick buy however mych you need, then setting up a good mount for it as per origional, then id would feel basically the same.

might take a little special welding to lengthen the rod though
