I'm a big fan of the old-school Jag sixes. Sure they have a habit of dropping oil at random intervals and they drink fuel like you wouldn't believe, but they're just cool. Plus they look like an older, bigger version of the 5M-GE.

I'm with Jason on this one with the Merlin, But don't forget it has a big brother......the Griffin.....hmmmm 37 litres of supercharged heaven what do you do when the smiley face doesn't have a big enough grin .
As far as car engines go, I am a sucker for the old 426 hemi, but it all depends on the vehicle you are putting it into.

mmmm. I have never heard of the Griffin. I did see the Merlin's little brother but for the life of me I cannot remember the name. I reckon that you will need about a week to set the valve lash on a Merlin

Mmmmm ... 426 hemi - would love to own and play with one of them in a Charger.
For DIY mechanics, you couldn't beat the old Holden red motors. Fixable with chewing gum, paper-clips, and rubber bands. Spare parts always available on the road-side. My old EK actually broke down one night ... right next to a burnt-out EH wreck - parts galor. Better than the RAC!

i'm not talking about the big rolls merlin, the merlin i mean is a 502 cube BB chev based drag engine, it has about 800 hp for US$17000, go to www.summitracing.com
another fly engine is the V6 Kia Carnival engine, we have 4 brand new spare short engines sitting at work waiting for cars to come in with the standard engine knock,
the sleeves in the bores come loose and slam up and down {knock knock} sometimes fucking heads and all, about $7000 worth of warranty, CHING,

The Honda S2000 engine um... F20c i think??
produces 120hp a litre and redlines at 9000!
Now that's what i call Japanese engineering.
And on top of that it's a Low Emition Vehicle (LEV)

I heard it was a W16 but look at the exhaust manifolds it looks like a V16 to me.... a W16 should only be 4 cylinders long? and have 4 heads?
I see 8 inline cylinders on the one bank - there are 8 exhausts ports there, unless each cylinder has two seperate exhaust ports? but if that were the case then there should be 6 more turbos?
shrug

Each "bank" is actually a very narrow angle vee, so instead of all the cylinders being in a row they're staggered - just like a V8 except with no gap in between. They did an excellent job of making such a large engine so compact, but it's still a big mofo!

There has been some Fords mentioned - Favorite Ford motor would be a 427" side oiler ala 65 Shelby Cobra.
