Well the Aus delivered "Altezza" comes with the 1G-FE for the IS200 and a 2JZ-GE for the IS300. In Japan the Toyota Altezza RS200 comes with the BEAMS 3S-GE while the AS200 comes with the 1G-FE.

AFAIK, Altezza/RS200 refers to the 3S-GE model only.

IS200 has the 1G.
IS300 has the 1JZ.
People do call these cars Altezzas (prolly 'coz it sounds better and looks the same), but they'd just be tugging.

Actually, it's a 2JZGE. Otherwise it'd just be an IS250! Razz

Cool, thanks alot... i take it half cuts for these are hard to come by? Because all i need is the motor. And id rather a 1G-GTE motor, but i heard that the "f" series injection system is alot better or something the rather, does anyone know what the 1G's put out stock? I mean, the 1G-F's..

btw, what is a 3sge? Is that a four cylinder? The motors going into a 1300kg car.. with the 1G-GTE it should only weigh about 1200ish Smile

1G-FE puts out 114kW.
1G-GTE puts out 157kW.
BEAMS II 3S-GE from the Altezza/RS200 puts out 157kW also. It's a naturally aspirated 2.0L 4 cylinder with variable valve timing on both intake and exhaust camshafts.

In NSW, you won't be able to legally put a 1G-GTE into an IS200 since the engine is older than the car.

On a side note. If anyone knows of any Altezzas landing on our shores, I'd be very interested in buying it....

Not quite Nark... check out the specs on the Toyota Japan website: http://www.toyota.co.jp/Showroom/All_toyota_lineup /Altezza/index.html

Altezza refers to all models (3S and 1G), whereas RS200 refers to the 3S model only.

Intersting. Looks like I'm wrong. Bugger. Sad

They seem to call the 1G one the Altezza AS200.

Yeh... I only found out about the Altezza AS200 through Gran Turismo 3.
Also lets not forget the Altezza Gita (the wagon one) which comes with a 2JZ-GE.
