Whats the difference between the jap spec and aussie spec T50 gearboxes?

I think pretty much just the bellhousing, the Aussie one has the clutch slave cylinder on the passengers side, the opposite side to the exhaust on the 4A-C, & the Jap one has it on the drivers side to suite the 4A-GE.
Although I guess any 4A-Cs that came out in japan would have had the slave cyl. on the passenger side, but there's not many of those being imported here I imagine....

yeah my g/f's got one in her TA22 and its the only phisical difference i can see from the outside, havent needed to take it out yet but i would say its prob just the bellhousing cause im pretty sure the input shafts are identical.

Splines on the back of the box is different also.
Jap is 22 spline
Aussie is 18 spline
correct me if im wrong

The (20 not 18 I think!) spline T50s are the earlier ones from T engines, all A engines get a 22 spline - every one I've ever seen has!

Yeah, I thought the question was refering to jap & aus spec A series T50s, I totally forgot about the T series T50. That's very different, different extension & bellhousings, & yeah different output shaft.
