I am having problems with my fuel gauge it is well farked if i fill it up it says half a tank and then it will go to empty and back up its fkd.
I have a mechanical fuel pump on the engine and understand that there is a fuel sender inside the fuel tank. I dont have a clue how much it will cost to get fixed but i was thinking stuff it get a drop tank they look sweet and i can probably get more fuel in a custom one. Does anyone know how much?
I'll just have to find one in perth?
any suggestions?

I'm getting a drop tank made for my TA22. Its going to about $1200 fitted and this includes cutting out the spare wheel well and welding in some plate.

Stainless steel right?
Im guessing you would have an electric fuel pump.
Is your spare sunken in your boot? (mine is)

Cool1,
Are you having a lifter pump and/or EFI pump built into drop tank or are you going to do this external from the tank?
Are you having baffles built in the tank?
I'm looking to put a drop tank on my RA28 and get all the pumps out of the boot (hatch)

Yes it will have baffles and I will not be having any pumps in the boot. I will be having a swirl pot and probably a hipo intank pump.
I will be getting the tank made in a month or 2 so I'll let you know the exact details once done.

CMk2, I suggest you either buy the fuel sender from Toyota or get one from a wrecker. Either option will be WAAAAAY cheaper than a drop tank. I'll post the part number in this thread for you tomorrow so you can get a price from Toyota.

Course, a new sender doesn't give you the incentive to put stickers on/polish your tank for all to see. Also, it doesn't encourage driveway scrapage
