It's a piece of piss man; if you've ever changed a wheel bearing before you won't have any problems. You can borrow my workshop manual if you like.

Take off wheel.
Prise little cap off the hub. Pull out split pin and undo big nut.
Pull off hub.
Outer wheel bearing will fall out.
Turn hub over. Destroy grease seal. Inner bearing falls out.
The races will be left in the hub.
Bash these out with a big screwdriver or punch - try not to damage the hub. You will see 2 little 'cutouts' where you can
Reverse process.
Use a socket with the right diameter to tap the beaing races into place.
Be very sure to pack bearings with plenty of high temperature bearing grease (usually a blue color), and make sure there is the correct amount of preload on the bearing. Use new split pins and grease seals - they don't cost much.

thanks mate, that helps a fair bit.

a few further questions.. the nut under the cap.. when i undo that does the whole hub turn or is that fixed to the stub axle? Im really in the dark when it comes to suspension parts.

Im getting a Bearing kit from CBC, im assuming this comes with everything i need including pins and seals?

and.. what preload do i torque it too?

yeah the big nut on the outside is the only thing holding it on, once you have that off the whole hub should come off...

Nah, you'll have to buy the oil seals...they cost 5-6 each, and they usually don't come with split pins. Check the kit, you might be lucky.
The big castellated nut is the only thing holding the hub on to the stub axle.
You do it up till the hub is 'snug' - hard to define, but basically you want it to freewheel. Grab the top and bottom of the disc and rock it.....there should be no play. If it is too tight, it will not freewheel....leaving it this way will cause the bearing to overheat and seize....off comes the wheel.

On the good-bad continuum, that's bad. Laughing

Hope it helps.

Thanks for making me crack up at work... now all my cow-orkers think I'm crazy. Or easily amused. Or maybe both.

Might help if you also remove the brake caliper, some people have had success with a large hammer and just bashing the hub off but thats bad!
