What's a 3TGTE like in an A6 chassis?

Just wondering - I've never driven a TA63/4, and was wondering how it compared (stock) to the R series etc. Any genereal thoughts? Though they put out a lot more power stock, stats seem to be a lot less torque, and the A6 celica is a lot heavier than some of the other cars 3TGTEs came in. Is the 3TGTE lighter to make up for this? Possible handling benefits? I'm not even sure on the stock specs - on Matti Kalihatti's [spelling] site, it is listed as only ~150lb/ft at 4800 rpm, but the stock specs listed for the 3TGTE swap into his A6 Carina list it as 200lb odd.. which would make a lot of diference before boost, I imagine.
Also wondering if it would be a much easier swap insurance/engineering wise than say a 1G as this chassis came from the factory with this engine as an option. I'm guessing a Ta6x swap into a local A6, if all the factory parts were simply swapped over, it would need a minium of engineering or approval to be done - am I right?
I'm just thinking out loud - general thoughts anyone?

One problem that you may hit is finding a 3T-GTEU that's younger than your car (not sure if that is a requirement where you live though).
Other than that, good luck finding a TA6x to swap parts over from!
Also remember that peak torque isn't much of an indication of what the torque will be like before boost...
The 3T-GTEU only puts out 114kW I think. Which will make it quite lively, but not as psycho as a 1G.
I think the insurance/engineering hurdles would probably be the same for both engines.

Fair enough. Forget the before boost bit then - I guess I was assuming more peak torque more torque througout the range aswell. I know you could have more peak torque but a nasty peaky curve - but I figured toyota wouldnt build a stock engine quite like that. A car you have to rev the piss out of just to get going isn't fun in my book.

I'm not so sure - as the engine was offered from the factory in the exact same chassis, and no parts need to be fabbed/altered etc, surely it would be a lot easier.

That's assuming you can find a TA6x to swap stuff from...
I've only ever heard of two in Australia...
The only real fabrication stuff for a 1G is the engine mounts. There's nothing else really major. Next biggest thing would be changing the radiator outlet...
