howdy all!

for those in on the saga my gt-four has been pretty much off the road for the past six months

it's been overheating due to a blown head gasket
(lets hope thats the extent of the problem!)

anyway... i've been constantly hassled by people wondering what is going on and when she is going to make her re-appearance

(its almost been somewhat embarrassing being on the board of a toyota club and having to drive around a borrowed nissan pintara station wagon *shudders*)

soooo.... finally some news!

today a much awaited vrs set arrived from toyota japan and so begins the saga of the changing headgasket....

pulled about half the engine apart today (omg bits everywhere) and should have the head off by the weekend (lol will also havta find this silly socket for removing the toyota headbolts *sighs* they always make it difficult).

anyways once the head's off... it'll be sent off... um... somewhere... lol... where it will get crack tested and cleaned up... depending on my limited budget i'll see what 're-conditioning' and performance enhancing services i can also get done.

as a minimum will also send off my radiator and replace some hoses and other items... you should have seen the state of my thermostat... yuck Sad

i keep finding things i want to replace or 'improve'... lol... so lets hope i don't blow my budget or the bank manager won't be happy.

feedback is welcomed Smile

so are donations Razz

the going is a bit slow cause i am such a noob and keep referring to a badly written manual... so far though no major catasrophies and i've been really enjoying it.

will keep you all posted....

hehehehe wish me luck!

(omg pulling it all apart is fun... putting it all back in is going to be very scary indeed!!! Eye Spin )

Danny,

Good luck with it mate, probably worthwhile getting the head ported and polished and manifolds/ports gasket matched and get arp head studs, worth the $200 to fit, seals a lot better and tighter. depends how far you wanna go...but if your running standard ecu no point playing with springs and retainers....
best of luck to you, any help i can offer i wilL!

Michael.

dont forget the heater core too or you will re-clog ya radiator! see if you can find someone that can lend ya a die grinder and an air compressor its very easy todo your own port matching.
