High Energy in Dandenong.
Although they are a bit Holden, Ford and Chev oriented. They didn't believe a six could fit in a Corona and later that day I found out Mrshin had chatted to them about a mythical Toyota V8...they must have thought it was the freaks day out.
I suggest you email them and send pics....they seem to do good work, but can't get around the fact that there is more to motoring than the 'Bogan 3'.

I actually called High Energy the other day again - '4AG? nah. The only fours we do are for kit cars, clubmans and that, pretty much escort motors. We can do one for ya though, just bring in ya sump...' - Get the picture?
'Yeah, about $600 at a rough guess.' With that I put the phone down, attached the bottle to the mig, and started looking around the shed for some sheet steel!

Also, how about anyone who's made a hipo sump, or seen a few, got any ideas/suggestions?

I spent along time looking for a sump for my Celica, I couldn't find any at the time but have found one since. Its $495US plus postage from memory..........
So I figured fuck that and kept looking....
I "found" the TRD design for the T series sump Baffles, spoke to a man that knows what he is doing and the car now sports a JMR sump with internal baffling and wings on both sides . It holds about 900 ml of extra oil and should solve all my T series oil problems that are common but generally ignored. Its not alloy, its steel and is a modified factory item.
It looks like this:

and this is a link to a bigger image showing the other side:

I honestly cannot remember what it cost me its been on there a while now. I can find out tho or put you in touch with the man that made it (And yes he is in the club). It wasn't cheap but it was a shitload less than anywhere else and in my mind worth every cent ! (Must supply exchange sump and allow time for it to be made of course.)

Rod, you wouldn't happen to have taken a pic of it before it went on the car? any chance of a diagram or something?
keen for ideas. does it have windage tray/crank scrapers and such?

Cool 1,
I have sent the creator of my sump a link to the thread.
Being for a different car/engine he will have to look into more on whats needed for yours and placement of the wings will need to be worked out. (Gotta make sure they don't foul on anything in the bay) It will also be hard to line up the dipstick hole in the baffle without a block dipstick and dipstick tube. There was ALOT of hours reserch into mine so I'll let him get in touch with you if he can help you out.

Stewart,
It doesn't have crank scrappers these were far to time consuming to do and just not viable at the time. It does have a windage tray tho and yeah I should have internal pics of it somewhere. I really can't send them out tho mate as the time spent in getting the design right was HUGE and it just isn't right to do that with someone else work.
Its not a "perfect" design BUT i beleive it will solve all the usual T series problems. The old Trap door type design was also avoided as these are a bastard of a thing. Given the shape of the sump and with the windage tray in place they are most likely an unnecessary added expence.

Has anyone used a alloy sump made by pbr. It costs about $500-%600. I havn't seen one but they sound pretty good and if they can handle the gee forces of a clubman and control oil it will have no problem in a normal car.
