Yup. RA65.
Of that generation, there were three models:
RA60 => SA63 => RA65

Thanks for the replies. Very much appreciated. I'm thinking of buying although they do look quite ugly but i might just get one for a first car.

ahh... few bags of chips should suffice
nah, i'm looking for about $50... pretty much all new timing gear, good compression (for an 18R-U) extractors... was running really smooth when i took it out of the car, comes with flywheel, pressure plate, clutch ( previous owner used it for towing so its not the best, but its still got quite a bit of wear left in it) throwout fork, bearing, uhm... theres a spare carby/intake manifold, new spark plugs ( ) oil filter ( ), new dizzy cap, also bellhousing, starter...
would be a shame to see it go into a paddock whacker as its still a tight engine... but its taking up space - you can see how desperate i am to get rid of it

Hmmmm...Interesting
Don't hold it for me but I am keen if I can find something to put it in that is also around that price (Ok, maybe a little higher, as if im gonna buy a $50 car)
Thanks for the reply dude,
Andrew

WHY get one of them.. unless u intend to do an engine change, dont get one.. id recommend a st182 first fwd celica - those are good cars for what u pay

pft
they're not that ugly .. as long as you get the hatch not the coupe
not a bad little car. my ra65 was perfect for thrashing around. not enough power to get you into serious trouble, but enough to have a bit of fun... you can plouw into almost any corner, and simply floor it and turn the steering wheel and get all 4 wheels screeching all the way round.
it was enough to impress everyone on a skyline cruise
quote from the r32 gts-t driver in front of me (over the cb) "I've got this ugly turbocharged thing on my arse, and I can't get rid of it!" (they all thought it was turbo'd 'coz of the pod filter induction noise)
they were *really* impressed/unhappy when they found out it only had 110bhp

Nothing compared to the Lancer huh?
Maybe you should've transferred the Ralliart stickers over to the silly car... That may have evened it up a bit...

the wing helps keep the car on the ground when your popping wheelies eh ?
Hmms - RWD celica .. Weeeeelll if your TOTALLY insane and have money to burn - grab a st185 Gt4 - and play " make it rear wheel drive please! It already has the rear diff - just a few too many driveshafts up front
they would be sweeet
if you want to get technical - you could probably say the supra up until 99 ( jza80) is the last RWD celica -seeing as they were originally a celica spin off
And what a bloody good celica it is!!

it's not a dog!
you people just never treated it right.
bah.. I still love my ra65, and I had more guts to corner faster in that thing than Ido in my supra (the advantage of knowing you dont have enough power to kill yourself)

Very much in agree with you there! I used to throw my car through corners, phyically just manhandling it to make it go sideways way before the apex.
Now, I'm just way too scared of it to do that. Combination of big power and a non-linear power delivery make for brown pants material.
