WTB : Something with a 1jz-gte

Hey,
I'm looking to get something with a 1jz-gte, but my budget is limited, so i'm leaning towards a mk2 supra. I'm looking at spending 6.5k, but for that i'd want a complete car (engineered and preferably registered) that's in good condition and the engine immaculate, doesn't matter if it's stock, actually probably prefer stock, i'm mainly worried about the engine being reliable. If anyone knows someone who's selling something with a 1jz around this price range, or a mk2 supra, i'd be interested.
Thanks alot, Esselte.

ehehehehehehe
sorry
I only know a few 1jz mk2 owners, and none of them would let their baby go for $6k, not with good condition, engineering, and immaculate engine.

"Tell 'im he's dreamin'.................."
if you were lucky enuff to find the stuff to do this conversion, youd be doing well to get the conversion done for 6 grand. and an MA 61 in' good condition ' is worth about 6 grand as well. youll need a bit more of a budget if you want a good car with a 1J. best of luck though, if you are in the right place at the right time theres a chance you could find a gem.

Well fair enough, everyone is entitled to believe what they want about the value of a particular car or conversion or whatever.
Sleepercorty, sorry i wish i could but i can't afford anywhere near the 11k mark, thanks anyways for the referral though.

chill out big fellah. im not having a go at you, and there is certainly no 'believing' here as i have done the conversion twice.
gearbox, flywheel, fork, slave and associated package off 2JGE -$1000 (if youre lucky)
supra/soarer 1/2 cut, - $2300 if you get an awesome deal
or chaser cut for $3200
engine mounts -$250
clutch - $250 for a cheapie
front sump - 250 (again if youre lucky)
exhaust - $1000
intercooler piping - $250
wiring $500 (or free if you do it yourself)
thermofan/s - $250
p/steer hoses - $250
tacho converter - $100
and labour about - $1500 if you got someone to do it
so that is $5900 with a supra/soarer cut and you doing all the labour and wiring yourself.
or $7900 if you get it done (wiring and labour)
lots of these parts are rare and hard to source so it can take a long time to find this stuff, so if just the conversion alone costs this, no one is going to go to all the bother and then sell it for that cheap, however with regards to -

youll notice that i said in my last reply, that theres always the off chance that you could find a gem.however this is the first cheap 1J MA61 that has come up (ever) and as stated it had issues.
cheers.

Hey,
Yeah i know the conversion costs are steep, even with friends helping with labour, but you know with conversions you never make your money back (Well extremely rarely anyways), and using that obviously once off price as a reference does lead you believe that 6.5-7 would be fair. Anyways, thanks for any helps.
Esselte.
