Sorry Grant - at this stage I'm only asking out of curiosity. Are these really a dirrect plug-and-play on a 1JZGTE? I ask because Sard market 550 and 800cc units for the 1J and a much greater range for the 2J. Now, I haven't eyeballed a 2J rail yet, but it doesn't *sound* as if they are compatible.
I've read that the 1J's standard injectors will support around 400hp and the Sard 550cc injectors will handle around 550hp. What sort of hp would the 440s handle?
cheers,
Justin

Yes, Jap spec 2JZGTE injectors are compatible with the 1J; US spec injectors are not directly compatible though as they are low impedance. As far as horsepower goes I really couldn't tell you as I've never had a situation where I've maxed out the injectors.

I sold a set of the 440s to someone last night, and they are externally identical to the 1J ones, only the spray holes are different - hardly relevant! Also of interest, they fit into a 20v fuel rail easily too If possible, always go for low impedance injectors though, they certainly allow more control - if your ECU can't handle it, then it's not worth a cracker

as far as my understanding of capabilities go the 440cc injectors can support 80hp per injector. the 550s are 100hp per injector. Six cylinder car = 480hp and 600hp respectively.

Interested! Will these go into a 2jzGE fuel rail?
Would you be interested in a swap?
email me at shane.standley@thomson.com.au
Thanks

I have no idea if they would go into a 2JZGE fuel rail; you'll have to do some homework on that one. The 2JZGTE injectors are side feed though and I was under the impression 2JZGE injectors were top feed.

LOL, did my homeowrk, and unfortunatley (for me) they wont fit, as its top feed compared to side feed.

Would these fit in my 1JZ and be able to run with my Bosch 979 and MicroTech?
Would it be a good swap for the stock injectors?
Alex.

They are a drop in replacement for 1JZ injectors Danish

point of interest... they'd require a complete re-tune, correct? as the computer would still be opening the injectors for the same amount of time, but the 440s would be squirting in a lot more fuel in that same time period

So with the MicroTech would it be a worthy upgrade if i was keeping the stock turbo's and just doing some other mods?

nope
with the stock turbos, the stock injectors are fine
only go bigger injectors if you're going bigger turbos

So there would be no power gain with say max. boost on the stock turbo's; 14psi and more fuel (bigger injectors)?
Of would it only be usefull with bigger cams or a bigger turbo?

Correct although some people claim that at full song on 16-17 psi the 1J injector duty cycle is getting critical. I have never measured it myself.

the general consencus that i have heard is that the stock 1j injectors will max out at 250rwkw. So if your turbo(s) can make more power than that, then these injectors would be a worthy upgrade.

cams?
turbo would be a better idea
and running the stock turbos on 14psi isn't the best idea to begin with (although I do know a few people who run them on 17psi daily)
turbos and fuelins system both give up at around 250rwkw on the 1j, so you have to change both to go any higher

There is no problem running 1J turbo's at 14 or even 16psi. In fact, with a 3" system and hi-flow cat they will naturally boost to 14psi anyway.

There was a Soarer build-up in High Performance imports.... He ran out of Fuel before the turbo's ran out of puff.
I have been running 16-18psi out of my stock turbos for about 6 years now. No problems with them yet, but I had to change injectors as I was running out of fuel.
And before anyone says "yeah yeah bullshit", I have the Summernats 12 Horsepower Heroes trophy to prove it.

I never thought they ran that high with just an exhaust
then I got a boost gauge. 1 bar, with no boost controller!
