Can we get some stats of people with sites of their cars?
Mine: http://www.vss.com.au/supra/pics.html
Average visits (not just hits!) per week: 80->90
Average time per page: 2 mins
Referrals: toymods/lextreme/alsc/supraforums/google/yahoo/msn
I don't have it on my signature anymore on any of my 3 main forums, but there is still 90 people accessing it (90 last week).
Interesting:
If you go to google and search for 'supra pics' mine is half way down the seccond page. If you do australia only 'supra pics' mine is 1st cab off the rank!
For you web guys out there, I don't have much in my meta tags. And if you do a view-source on my 4 html page 'site', I LOVE the simplicity.

My site has only come back up, so I can't really tell you... Plus it'll be integrated into my home page too, so kinda hard to tell with the stats.
I can give you the Toymods stats though...
The server gets almost 2000 unique visitors a day...
Serves out about 40000 pages and 65000 files (images & stuff) a day.
This was for May 2003. We moved the forums onto the new server last month so the stats are incomplete for June.
You'll find that most search engines ignore metatags. What gets you high in the page rank is for other sites (especially high traffic sites) to link to your page.
The fact that you had it in your sig on forums would probably attribute to your page coming up high in the search engines...

Ed, your stats are kinda confusing. "Today" you had 1200 visitors, but on average for last week its 29?
I might talk to peter scott about putting a link from his planetsoarer site. Thats a great site, and I'm sure I'd get some clickage from it.
... Does toymods want to sponsor MY site?? Free yearly membership if I get 100 click-throughs each month?

This question has been asked in the past, and it was basically decided by the Board that it was too much of a nightmare to enter into. Too many grey areas and opportunity to piss people off...
So, in short. No.
