Anyone recommend Magnaflow Mufflers?

Hi Guys,
The exhaust on my 4afc powered Corolla has given up the ghost.
I am performing a 4agze conversion toward the years end and would dearly like to get a cat-back system that can be adapted to the GZE when it is installed, without restricting it.
Various exhaust shops say that 2.25" is too big and would be loud and drone too much... I tend to agree with them.
The Plan was: 2.25" mild steel, mandrel bend, from cat-back with big resonator and a nice stainless steel muffler.
Question:
Would a 2" Mandrel Bent system be too restrictive for a GZE or too loud for a 4afc?
Droning sux and I don't want a fart-box.
Cheers,

depends how badly it's "given up the ghost"
if it's just a hole, weld a piece of metal over it as a temp solution.
just remember, it's actually then part of the exhaust system closes to the engine that makes most of the difference (when the gasses are hotter - thus occupying more space)
a 2" from the cat back should be fine - just get some good extractors & slightly larger system to the cat when you do the conversion
