 RnW army cruise=shattered gearbox :(

hey guys,
well as the title suggests at homebush on friday night, went for a little squirt whilst waitin for people to turn up... hit 7000rpm in third gear..put the clutch in and heard a clunk.. went to find fourth and had nothin:(
pulled over to try fix it.. different gears kept comin and goin...then it just went bang.. those who were there prob heard the loud rattle wen i was leavin to limp home... got half way and it gave up.. big bang and very strong smell of clutch  anyways.. pulled it apart today.. didnt look good.. selector snapped syncros have no teeth.. 3rd and 4th are missin teeth and yea and some other cog only had half its teeth.. i got pics.. i hope it works to post em..

oh f%^k.
that oil pan tells the story better than the pics ever could ... bummed to hear it. I know someone who's gonna be searching the wreckers tomorrow

Yep we heard you leaving homebush,do you need a new gearbox? We have one for you,low km import gearbox,very good condition.

hey gze thanks for the other.. nice to see there are others to help me out.. i already picked up a new box from sss yesterday just gotta go pick up a new clutch today it has chucks out of it
anyways i'll prob see you's all this friday night..fingers crossed

looks like there was a party in your gear box and all the gears were invited >>>>........... unlucky  did u force it into gear thats usually why the selectors break.How often did u change the oil? it looks like the shaft was getting hot!

 F*@KEN HELL I HATE MY CAR AT THE MOMENT.... me and my mate just spent all weekend puttin in the new gearbox and clutch...droppped it down.. started it (eventually-battery a bit flat:() put it in reverse..bit of throttle let the clutch out... didnt budge... put it in 1st didnt move again... turns out ive done the drivers side cv too... so yea.. she is still not goin... not happy jan
oh and flem... its fucked up when i was goin down that long straight near the carpark and at bout 7000rpm put the clutch in too grab 4th and when the clutch engaged heard this clunk and then felt a jolt and had no gears...
oh and had a better inspection of the box today and it turns out that there was 6 cogs/gears or watever u wanna call em with either no teeth or teeth missin... plus the big long thing sittin in the yellow container in the photo was f*@Cked..
so yea.. there goes the plan of pickin up the 17s yeasterday... grrrr
oh well... i guess on the bright side of things.. my parents always told me if your gonna do something, do it properly...
well i think its safe to say i did the gearbox properly
oh and flem.. never ive never changed the oil.. ive only had the car for 5 weeks
oh and eviljack.. you cant seriously tell me you thought i might be cominback.. couldnt you hear it lol
oh and by the way if that was ur blue vehicle goin in the driveway as i was goin out.. its pretty nice.. i only wish i could of stayed for a better look...
and rolla boy.. loved the lock up into the driveway
