Hey,
Just wondering what sort of things I would need to change if I were to put a 1GGTE in my Supra??
Obviously, I'd need to change the engine, wiring, computer...and put the intercooler in and I dunno what else.
Maybe I should save for a decent 1JZ front cut...but I need some cheap power now!
Please help me!

What sort of Supra - a Mk2?
6M-GE = cheap power. Similar power to a stock 1G-GTE but without the turbo lag.

I'm guessing that you have a GA61...
I think all you really need to do is engine, ECU, and intercooler... A new exhaust would help too...
But if I were you, I'd rather save up for the 1JZ-GTE.

It's an MK3!
I know I know, I should get a 1JZ or 7MGTE, but I cant afford it right now...to change to those I would need to get a front cut and change everything under the bonnet. At least with a 1GGTE, I might be able to get away with not having to buy a tranny?? I dunno, thats why I ask.

Well, the best way to do a swap is to buy a half cut anyway...
So buy a GA70 half cut... But I'd recommend saving up that little bit and getting a JZA70 half cut...
It's not worth putting a 1G-GTE into a car that heavy. You need torque to move it and to get torque you need cubes (we're talking off boost here).

Ahhhh Dammit!!!
Front cuts are too expensive. I was hoping of slapping in the engine, put in the cooler, change the computer and wire it up!!!
(
I just want a lil bit more speed. 1JZ will cost me more and will stop me from saving for a house, which is why I can afford a 1GGTE now.

Have you thought about a 2JZGE? 220 hp, heaps of torque, packages sell for about $1200 and your insurance shouldn't change.

Are you aware that a Mk3 Supra weighs about the same as a current Commodore? They're friggin heavy man, you seriously don't want to put a 2 litre engine in it! From the factory a GA70 Supra with a 1G-GTE is no faster than a non-turbo MA70 with a 7M-GE (which ain't fast at all). To put it bluntly: don't waste your time.
Save your money and get a 1JZ front cut. And don't tell me front cuts are too expensive - this is the cheapest way to do an engine conversion, because it comes with everything you need to do the swap. Believe me, it will save you a lot of headaches in the long run.

Okay okay.....
Every place I look, they don't have any 2jzge!
Anyway, I think I'll just geta 1JZGTE one day or a 7MGTE and spend the extra $1000 on mods.
