Yup. Koni Yellows are more expensive 'coz they can be adjusted without taking anything off..

No they can't. Not for the A6. That quote was for yellows, and they only come in internally adjustable.

I understand that in principle, but don't belive it holds for ALL yellows for all cars. If you read the literature... i remember doing this once... it says SOME of their adjustables are done via a screw on top, some you have to unbolt the bottom etc etc
I got my quote from a suspension shop, and they told me that the koni yellows for my car are only internally adjustable. I queired that, 'cso i htought it would be external, and they no but they would set it up right when they install them. Now, with the rear shocks, it doens't matter that much if you have to unbolt the lower end and twist, but with stuts, internally adjustable would be a PITA.
Also.. are you talking JUST about shocks, rather than struts inserts? I thought only UBER-expensive struts could be externally adjustable

Lucky bastards! I did inquire and get price for koni reds for AE92. Price was 290¤ just for front. 290¤ is equivalent to 500AUD. There's the difference in Finnish(EU) and Australian prices .

Some are externally adjustable, some are internally... I've got both... fronts are externally, rears are internally adjustable.
Check the product code of the shocks you're getting. Then check the instructions on how to adjust the shocks. That'll tell you if it's external or internal.

IS that each, or for the pair? If it's for the pair, it's not that far off... a pair of yellow strut inserts is more than that over here.

You'll need coilovers for that kind of application.... rebound rates is the only thing Koni is adjustable for. The bound are preset (though adjustable at the rebuild stage).

Generally speaking, you're right. But then you can "tune" it for the street but of course not as aggressively as you would on the track.
Mind you I've taken my Astra on Wakefield and the shocks does do wonders from the street setup.
Also the adjustment can compensate for the general wear of the shocks so it can feel "new" again until you reach the hardest setting and you feel it's not doing its job.. and that's when a rebuild can happen.
