Cold-start air bypass valve needed... Wed, 30 July 2003 01:36 Go to next message
I need an air-bypass setup for the Cressida, as it's cold-start idle isn't particularly flash...The kind of thing I'm looking for is off a 22RE or 2SE (or similar).
As I understand it, it "plumbs" into the intake before and after the throttle butterfly. When the engine is cold, it allows air to by-pass the throttle, effectively "upping" the idle. When the engine warms, air is directed back thru the throttle, allowing "normal operation... (Or something like that Razz )

So, if anyone has one, or knows where I can get one, please respond here, or PM me.

Cheers!

[edit: Poor proof-reading! Razz ]

Hi mate...I'm in Canberra. How much do you want for the entire thing (incl. plugs etc) + shipping?

As long as it's the entire thing (in other words, I just adapt it to my existing setup, and away I go), then that would be fine.

(Naturally, it would also be excellent if the thing actually worked... Razz )

PM me and we'll work out details.

You can get these of almost an car injected from the mid 80s backwards. If you have a pick apart go and get one. Doesn't need to be toyota, can be any bosch or nippon denso L jetronic.
