Wheels Thu, 31 July 2003 00:35 Go to next message
Hey guys,
I have been looking for wheels for the sprinter in a long time and every place has turned me down due to the "rare" sprinter offset which they never have in stock does anyone know any place which will have wheels for the sprinter or anyone selling sprinter rims? I just don't wanna fork out 600 per wheel from simmons.
Thanks

I had the same problem a while ago. I went to my local mag wheel seller with the hope of some 15's that didn't look too bad and ended up with some 17's that look awesome. Apparently they were designed to fit a ford capri or something but have the same 4stud rear wheel offset and fit like a glove, I walked away with 4 17's+205/40 tyres for $1600 fitted. Cool

I take it you don't like my choice of mags, oh man and I thought I was cool, I'd better sell them right away and get something you think is cool so I'll fit in. Rolling Eyes

17's would look ricey on a sprinter
all chrome + shoved under the guards and looking rediculously wogboxy

*sigh

what's the sprinter stud pattern like compared to a mk2 supra?

I've been considering wheels for a while now. I keep tossing up between the sleeper/cool old schoo look of the stockers, and the benefits of handling, weight, and bigger brakes of a/m rims.

the big deciding factor at the moment is the cost of $3k+ for a set of simmons with rubber, which I really cant justify

Dude I didn't mean to offend!! I have seen sprinters with 17's and looked alright! I just don't like big chromies on older cars! My presonal choice...... don't be influenced by it!!

Who said anything about chromies? Razz

Draven,
Sprinters have the same stud pattern as the Mk2, although the offset of the Mk2 is usually a little lower. You can fit some other wheels, but the actual Supras look funny with the wheels tucked so far away from the flares...

To clarify my wheels aren't chrome or polished, they're pretty plain looking six spokes which look very good on the sprinter in my opinion. They aren't shoved under the gaurds either, I think you should wait till you know the full story before you go off on a tangent based on your own preconceptions. To clarify my other post I don't care if you don't like my wheel choice that's your perogative, but to throw around insults like ricey and wogbox without actually seeing the car is pretty narrow minded. I personally think panda or two-tone paint jobs look hideously 80's and would never get one myself, but I also respect and understand why others would get them....rant over Razz
