hi ...I was wondering if anyone could tell me what does the thing that looks like a UFO do ? It locks the benjo fitting on the pump.
I'm asking because I'm trying to upgrade my cressida GX60 pump to a bigger unit. I got a fuel pump off an old mercedes, but I'm having trouble with the UFO thingy..the thread is not the same as the pump on my GX60. I'm thinking of getting rid of the UFO thingy and fabricate a similiar looking unit.

do you mean the exit from the pump ?
theres 2 ways of doing it i think depending on your fuel lines;
1) straight out, ie. -{___)- OR
2) fitting the seperate bolt (to a smaller line) -(__)-I-*
hope that makes sence.. ?

Number 1 is for the bigger fuel lines, so your best bet is to get the attachement for number 2, as the exit is smaller and suits most cars.
some kits come with it, and some dont but it sounds like yours does. it will exit at a 90 degree angle from the pump

I think the thing your talking about is the pulsation damper,
its a damper for the fuel components , when the injectors switch
on and off there is up and down pressure pulses and this device
helps smooth things out.
