Boost spikin + EVC manual?

Hey guys had a boost spike problem since i got the car, she seams to spike over 14psi (which i think is what the EVC is set at) when i WOT it. any thoughts? the mech that fixed me dif was gonna take a look at it but if its some thin i can fiddle with then i'd rather to it meself!  Any ideas of what to check? btw i havent checked if i have a fuel cut defender, could that be part of the prob? anyway what should i look for? ect
ASLO i wanna check the EVC settings and turn the boost down to 12 for a bit see if that helps, any one know where an english EVC manual might be online? or any one have one? i got some photo copy's with the car but they're hard to read (bad qual). either that or if some one can walk me thought it, that'd be awesome too
btw i'm down in melb next week end so if there's any kind sods down there that could help that be great!

if the boost spikes for only a very short period of time try reducing the length of hose used in the wastegate control . It all depends on how the plumbing is setup (from compressor to wastegate)if you email me detailed pics or a diagram of the hose setup i can easily fix for you

just reset the boost controller, what model is it, i have instructions for a couple of them. You'll be able to fix any problems with it this way and you'll be surprised at how much harder it will go.
EVC's are good however you need to reset them often to get the best out of them.

basicaly when i have it to the floor and it hits around 14psiand your still pushing it it will spike a bit over it then drop back with a jolt to about idonno 5-10 then kicks up again, spike, drop, spike ect ect... so yeah its soughta short like it cuts it out help? i should have access to a digi camera when i go through bendi on the way to melb, so i'll get a whole bunch of shots of the bay then.
my mech reckoned the EVC might be plumed into the intake side not the turbo side (ie reading the PSI from just before it goes in rather then what the turbo is doing) sound like that might be right? it made sense to me but hwy whad i know!
No idea what the model of the EVC is, its HK$, black with redish lighting when its in monitor mode and green in the other modes, if that helps!  other wise if u can tell me where the seriel number is i'll check it out! Sounds like a good spot to start problem solving tho!

The correct place to get your boost levels from is from the intake side anyway, every 1j I know of is set up that way.
it sounds like you have an EVC 3, the model before mine, but I may still be able to ge the books for it, gimme a couple of days.
most importantly check the duty cycle that your evc is set at, it should be set on 100.
i think in the menu screens it will be the first screeen after it displays the current boost level.
ie, 1 press of the menu button.
If i remember correctly this should be the duty cycle and needs to be set on 100 or maybe a couple higher if it is still spiking a lot.
Try it and see.

had a play last night, the first ajust. 'mode' sees me lookin at 1.00cmkg or some shit, bar pressure? the second has just 100 showing, is that the duty cycle? should i bump it up to 110? 105?

it sounds as though you need to reset the whole unit.
