if the efi fuse was blown, shouldn't the engine still crank over?
I know mine did.

What exactly were you doing and did it involve leaving the doors open for a prolonged period of time, just make sure the batery isnt flat.

If the engine doesn't crank over I would be guessing it has somethink to do with the starter motor.

aren't there a couple of fusible links coming off near the battery? one controls the accessory circuit, the other controls the engine/starter. i know toyota had them in all the cars from 70's -mid 80's but i don't know if they continued after efi. look for a suspicious plastic bulge somewhere in your wiring loom near the battery.
Good luck.

Strange you should mention the fusable links, I found out how well they can stuff things up yesterday.
My brother's RA28 wouldn't register any sort of electronic joy anywhere, but the battery was fine, sound familiar?
I had broken the wire on the fusable link right at the battery terminal while I was cleaning the terminal so that I would get a clean connection, ironic eh?
if you've got a fusable link down stream from where all the bits that work come off of you loom then that is probably the problem.
It was very easy to fix, just a bit of solder and we were back in business!

I had problems with my fusable link, but when mine was faulty it wouldn't give me any power to the lot. But your set up might be different. I say this because your radio is working so you might have 2 of them. there should be a main wire going from the battery to the starter motor and another going to all the accessories. not sure about your car but the fusable link will be either at the battery end or in the fuse box, I know on crowns and cressida's they are in the fuse box in the engine bay.

Yeah fuseable (sp?) links are just a piece of wire that act like a fuse (lol).

LOL, i hate blade fuses with a passion. too hard to see thru them in the dark when you forgot a torch....
thought of getting circuit breakers??? can get ones that slip into blade fuse holders, and then you can definitely see if one has tripped. cost about $10 each, so a little exxy, but saves a LOT of hassle and frustration.

Have you sorted it yet?
You may have plenty of power for your lights and radio etc, but not enough to turn your engine. That click you hear could be either the starter motor meeting the flywheel or it attempting to turn.
I would try charging your battery or getting a jump and see if that makes any difference whatsoever.
Rule out as many basic problems as you can first.
