RA60 -> MA61 Parts ??? Sun, 03 August 2003 11:12 Go to next message
I need a few rubber seals, bobs and bits for my MA61... Are most parts interchangeable between these 2 models ?

Specifically the: Rubber boot seal.

What parts interior / exterior / engine are **NOT** interchangeable?

Has any one had any luck fabricating an Air Dam that will fit snuggley under the bonnet? I see no way of improving air flow else wise, a pod filter would be even worse as it would suck even more hot air off the extractors...

Im also looking for a new: Clutch master cylinder... Can I use one off an RA60 ?

Majority of parts behind the firewall are intechangable including interior, rubbers, doors etc.

Air Dam as in cold air intake?

You can make vast improvements on the intake pipe, but what engine do you have under the bonnet?

Dont know about the master cylinder, but i assume they would be different as the celica run different front calipers i beleive? correct me if im wrong.

He said clutch master cylinder, not brake. Yes they are interchangeable between RA60 and MA61.

I've only got the standard 5ME engine under the hood atm...

I have gone and spoken to a vast number or exhaust and fabrication shops in brisbane today to ask about improving the cold air intake setup... no one really knew where to source the factory item, or even if there was one...

Best bet maybe to have an aluminium air dam run below / infront of the radiator, removing the front right head light is probably not an option Razz...

Does anyone have any ideas?

Yes there was a factory item, wasnt too much chop from what i can see.

The question is do you want to chop up your supra?

I ran a 4 inch pipe from under the airbox to the front bar. Works very well, requires a large chunk of metal to be removed under the airbox and in the tire well also to fit the pipe.

the intake pipe can be replaced with a mandrel bent setup that any exahaust shop could fabricate.

But you are still running a 5me Razz

Yes a 5me, so i guess that turns it into a *Put up and Shut up* situation... more like the infamous "cant polish a turd" type thing...

Still cant hurt looking for a solution.. i know it wont change much performance wise but it is still an issue non-the-less...
