I use Koni yellows myself. I could not afford Bilstein at the time! I suspect there is not really that much in it and either/or would do the job very well.

i've had experience with both konis and bilsteins. I would go for the bilsteins if the price different isn't too great. I've found that they are a lot more durable and give a better ride (IMHO) Adjustables might be great but in the end how often are you going to adjust them?

What are your quoted prices for each set? and what springs are you running? if you are getting a spring and shock matched package then adjustability isn't all that useful.

$255 each for the B6's

slightly less for the koni's

currently running a 400 pound front spring in a coilover set up. rears will be about 325 pounds.

They both are good shocks but they are a little harder and cost more to rebuild.

FWIW, I went with the Konis. They made a BIG improvement over my sagging OEMs. However, I think if I ever pushed the car hard (ie, when I ditch the 5ME), I'd be disappointed. I don't have any good reference points of ther springs in the same car, though my feeling is that Konis are good for street but not hard track work. Wouldn't it be good if you could try different suspension componants before you buy Shocked

As far as adjusting goes it depends how keen you are. I adjust mine all the time, it's all part of the learning experience.

Make a few changes and see how mauch difference it makes and do your best to try avoid the placebo affect..... Rolling Eyes

well at this stage im looking at getting shocks from another car model to fit my ae86.. something like a AE92 or a ST185 GT4 which has more weight and more over the front.. so the shocks will already be stiffer and stiff enough for an ae86 Smile
