ST165 Brake Qs Mon, 04 August 2003 05:56 Go to next message
I'll keep this in a simple yes/no format
I want some better from brakes for my ST162 and was thinking about grabbing some 4-pot calipers for it from the ST165 or something similar, here's some quick Qs

1. Do I need new brake lines (for fitting purposes)?
2. Do they bolt-on to the ST162 mounting?
3. Is the disc the same size?
4. Are they are bastard to find?
5. I'm assuming the brake-pad is different size/shape (correct?)

Cheers for any help!

umm the ST165 has twin-pot calipers. I have done this conversion, so I will answer all your questions Wink I may have spoken to you about this before, if I have repeated myself... sorry

1. No
2. Yes
3. Yes
4. I dunno, these came up for sale on the forums and I just bought them. Got them off Juzzo, he may be able to get you some, but just phone a Jap spares import place.
5. Yeah, I actually didn't compare as mine came with pads, but I seem to recall they looked different. Just go to any decent place and get them to match you up some.

Hope this helps Smile

Yeah I've seen evidence in regards to 4-pot calipers before but I guess they aren't off of a ST165. I might email TRD about them just in case, but sounds like those ST165 calipers are fairly easy to work with! Cheers.
