The Government is investigating options for a new link between the Newcastle Freeway F3 and the future Sydney Orbital.
Affected areas are the North Western suburbs, so read up and have your say at

I agree with you Sam. Ive always liked the idea of having freeways and overpasses sorta like L.A. I was quite pleased with the results of the M5 East. Despite being inconvencied travelling to and from work each day for the many months/ year it started construction. The only downfall of having such Freeways etc. is the cost involved in constructing them and also maintaining them. Hence toll fee's. Ok well maybe not this one, but the motorways such as M2,M4,M5 etc.
For all its worth. For a nice fang, nothing beats the Old Pacific Hwy

there was heaps of people protesting around my area (west) for a longgggg time and i think they still are?
this country needs more roads!
tolls arent to bad becuase you have those key thingos and you get your money back

u mean "E-Tag". Yeah its good. Apparently you can claim your money back from tolls M4,M5 since Bob Carr or someone promised there wouldn't be tolls. Something like that. Anyways a work collegue does it. So it must work.

Ye if its for private use but I drive a truck and I cant claim because its a commercial vehicle. Plus its nearly double the price.

Bloomin' heck. I'd love to see a ring of freeways around Sydney too, but the reality of it is the more roads we build the more cars use these roads and the worse our daily traffic problems become. Instead of looking to constantly build new roads we should be looking to build more train/tram lines and busways and generally improve public transport. If more people caught the train to work or wherever it would leave the roads quieter for individuals like us to enjoy
