Has anyone seen many cars getting round with the blood orange paint? I'm pretty sure it's only a FPV colour, coz DAMN that's a nice colour.

http://home.iprimus.com.au/glshaw/FPV-front.jpg

What i wanted to know was how would I get on to getting some of that colour paint to paint my celica?

What you need to do is go to your local ford dealer and ask for the paint code. Then you go to your local paint distributor and ask for a can or 2 Very Happy
Easy

would the likes of a ford dealer just readily give out the paint code? won't they ask me about if i actually own one?

Apart from the other paints needed like primer and that to achieve a finish like that do i need any pearls and other stuff? I've never painted a car before...

A dealer legally has to supply paint codes. As for primers and such just speak to a panel beater.

Go to your Ford dealer and pop the bonnet on a car with the colour you like, and check the build plate! the paint code is right there!

regards Chuck.

Why does that mean you can't get yours painted that colour? "I was going to buy this new Ferrari, but then I saw another red one, and I just couldn't drive one of the same colour"

A while back i was going to get my celica sprayed the xr6 blue (narooma blue) all i did was email ford from their webpage and the emailed me back with the code. I ended up getting it sprayed the falcon colour congo green instead.

Or if you are feeling particularly destructive, run a chisel over a few doors/ bonnet / roof... collect the scrapings and get a $3 paint match from your local hardware store...

not reccomended... but its another story to tell the kids..

Cool colour choice (the purpley blue or the orange) Just yesterday I was driving home and I was thinking about another KE20 for something to do and that Orange was the exact colour that I had in mind.

I also like the yellow/green that Ford also has.

I knew that if nobody else was impressed then at least bigworm would be.

yeah its not like im the first person to paint my car that colour (wish i was though) and i definately wont be the last. for me it really was as simple as hmmm bright metallic blue or bright metallic blue? the only other thing i wanted was a candy apple and was told not to do it.

ps boudan Laughing Laughing Laughing
