no worries gabe...
let me know how you go gettig one made. my guy over here is totally bogged down with work at the moment, and im having trouble pushing stuff along. if you find someone who will do it at a decent price, let me know as it might be easier to get two done - and then send me one back...
secondly, THANKS to Matthew McFarlane for doing up a 3D image of the cam gears - all to be posted on the website shortly
cheers

i wasnt planning to, as this was just going to be a one off job for my machinist to spin up for me. then it turned into two, then maybe three... its getting a little out of hand for guy who was just going to do me some odd work in his spare time...
PERHAPS if i can monger enough interest (and deposits ) i can go to a local engineering firm, and get a batch made ??
can i see a raise of hands?
cheers

Check your email - I just sent you reduced pics.
Was I giving you a starter motor? Shit OK....my memory is failing. Today someone was adamant I gave them a box of pacemakers and thanked me profusely - I have absolutely no recollection of ever giving anyone a box of pacemakers, but it must have happened....there was a box of them just sitting there with my hand writing on the box.
All those raves starting to catch up??

Glen, a standard 2JZGE one weighs in at 438 g. Of course, the reason you get adjustable cam gears is not for weight reduction (homemade ones will probably ADD wight) but for altering cam timing and improving torque/power spread.

Oh i totally understand that they are purely for timing adjustments, but at a weight of 142g i thought that was verrrrrrry light vs the 'visual' weight of the stock ones.

heh.. visual weight.. i like.
a volume of 5.224E+004 mm^3 times a density of this 2.710E-006 kg/mm^3 would yield a mass of this 0.142 kg. This assume the density of 6061 Aluminum is indeed the one stated above
if my math is off, lemme know
