Hi guys,
I need some information about putting a 4age in my ae95 4wd corolla wagon. I have heard of a guy in NSW who successfully put a 4age 20v into his ae95 and i am wishing to do the same thing. does the 4age 20v drop in? some people say it does some say it doesnt. i need a straight answer on this. i rang up a toyota wrecker here in WA and they said i would have to rebuild my 4afe block with 20v components.
any help appreciated
thanks

Which Toyota wrecker was it, most of the ones over here in Perth don't have a clue...
You wouldn't have to do what they said, I'd fathom it being heaps easier than their suggestion

The engine is exactly the same size. Its the same block. You'd have to work out if any of the manifolding fouls on anything on the engine bay, but even the gearbox should bolt up.

where do i start!! hope you have both time and money!! they had to take a little bit off my 20v block to fit it in,you have to use your current box, which i suggest you get rebuilt before the engine goes in,as theres about 8 hrs labour in getting that box in and out.heavier clutch is also a must.if you are after any sort of power i would get an aftermarket computer.ive got a microtech.ill give you a run down on what ive spent half cut-$2000+$2500 install computer $950 + $500 intall clutch $600 gear box rebuild $1200 brake upgrade $700.plus paint $2800,wheels $1500,sound system $3000 and bonnet scoop $400. its for sale if your interested.give me a call if you want to know anything else 0410477413 jay

Thanks for all the help jay.
was there a cutout made on the 20v block so that the transfer case does not hit?
I am probably doing all the work with some mates which should save me some $$$
also im curious to know if you've taken your car down the 1/4 at all?
thanks
