You think thats bad have a look in the MA70 TSRM the whole dash and about 5 million bolts and screws even the cross bar has to come out to get to the heater!

Glad it was just the hose clamp for mine!!!

I also started this job - got half my car stripped ... and sais nah, I'll wait till I need to pull the dash for a better reason. Just get some heater hose and make a bypass in the engine bay.

Actually, I'm nearly ready to pull the core now. JCMF, where did you get your core from?

Some random dude, I didn't end up using it in the end...d'oh! Couldn't find anything wrong with it, so I put a coating over all the end of it and installed it all making sure it doesn't leak. Must've done something right, because it hasn't leaked since...

LOL I had my entire dash out and still couldn't get the heater core of my corona.

Ended up just taking it to a radiator place and got a discout because I had done most of the work Very Happy

Good Luck! Very Happy

It's the worst f*&ked job ever! I had to do it like 3 times in my celica as kept buying second hand cores and they kept busting.

Finally brought a new one.. But anyhow.. I got quoted $400 to replace a heater core in labour!! Best do it yourself.. Just be ready for pulling lots of stuff out and lots of cursing!

I took my heater out a few months ago and replaced the core. It is a big job, budget a fairly full day for it.

You will need to do the following
1. remove console
2. remove all heater ducting
3. disconnect all heater controls
4. disconnect heater pipes. (then mop up all the water you just dropped)
5. remove heater box (you will need to be a contorsionist with very small hands to achieve this step.)
6. remove core (it should just slide out of the box but will be tight. It might be easier/less damaging to pull the box apart)
reverse the process and keep cumfy warm.

Have Fun and don't dare come my way asking for assistance. I never want to have to do that again.
