85/86 cressida
5MGE runs fine but is a little smokey
Auto
straight body, small amount rust and a minor ding in unobtrusive spot
paint is faded
all electrics work including sunroof
just out of rego, but would need a bit of elbow grease to get it happening again. Would be good sleeper/project car for a 7MGTE transplant.
$650 ono
email soarer21@optusnet.com.au for more info

Hang on, wasn't there a bunch of people insisting any 1jz conversion will cost a minimum of 7k? And only a tiny bit less if you do the labour yourself...
Anyways PM sent

wouldnt have a clue what other people say sorry, I try not to listen unless its worth hearing.
However dont get too excited as it will not be fitted, merely said a package including the engine and box etc, no mention of putting it in for you, thats your job. Think of it as a giant jigsaw puzzle, I give it to you in a box and you put it together.

Hehe, yeh that's a useful conceptualization. Nah a while ago i posted saying i would be interested in buying anything with a 1jz that's engineered for 7k, ppl posted saying your dreaming, and just the parts alone would cost you 7k. I didn't bother arguing, but yeah i just thought i'd attract attention to the absolute amazing bargain of this 1jz package, according to some. But seriously, it is actually cheap, i've heard of full conversion packages going for 3.5 and 4k, including custom engine mounts, so this is cheap. Includes engine ppls! Bit difficult for me to get to Vic, plus i couldn't inspect the engine, plus i don't have time for the conversion, but i'm considering it. It should get snapped up pretty quick though.

thanks for the thoughts. I got the car to clean up for my mum, and the engine is an extra one I have after changing mind several times on what to do with my wagon. The engine in the cressida is a little too far gone to try and get it registered and most wreckers want an arm and a leg for a replacement 5MGE and it wasnt meant to cost much so instead Ive decided it isnt worth pursuing for its intended purpose and I have other project cars so its not going to become one of them.
