Hi guys.. joined up as you guys seem to be the only people that know anything about the 1G-GTE!!!! you just don't see them here in the uk!!!
Anyway... my turbos had a small leak.. then a boost pipe blew off stalling the engine, cutting their oil suply at full boost, they now need rebuilding..... so I'm taking them off to send them away......
I'm not a total mechanical flid.. I converted my 7M-GE supra to 7M-GTE no probs.. but I'm having a nightmare taking the little baby CT-12s off my car with the engine in situ!!!!!!! Has anyone here had the "pleasure" of doing this job??? if so how did you do it? whats the best plan of attack???? is there a service manual online for this engine?
help!!! thanks
Charlie

Hi Charlie..
I tried to follow Jakes instructions (on the link above) when removing my 1JZ turbos and all i can say the method differs on each car.. depending on what bolts are seized and what arent.
All i can tell you is that there will be a set pattern to do it.. you just have to find out what it is and then hope all the bolts can be freed. If its any consolation putting them back on is a bit easier... AND DONT FORGET - when refitting them remember to prime them properly before you start the engine as this is probably the most important aspect of refitting turbos.(although it still looks like youre a fair way of this bit yet )
Oh, forgot to mention.. its adi.
