Engine Cutting Out

Maybe you guys have some ideas, because I am completley stumped.
AE92 4AGE converted to Solex Twin Carbs x 2 (Total of 4 carbs)
HKS 272 degree cams and sprokets
40 degrees advance
Ok, that's the basic engine specs
Running optimax plus octane boost.
For the first two weeks I had the car, reved to 9 no worries.
Then it started to cut out on cylinder number 2. The spark plug turns black after about 4 k's. I figuered it was probably a lead, or a bad plug or the coil, distributer. Ie something electrical. All the things that provide spark have been tested and verified as working.
So I thought maybe I'd melted a piston. Did I compression test. First 3 cylinders are 1100 and number 4 is 1200. So no issues' there.
I had the carbs tuned, no difference, still cutting out.
Reduced the timing slowly back to standard, trying ever 5 degrees. Still not fixed.
This problem only occurs after about 5 minutes of driving. Ie the engine is fine when it's cold.
So I've ruled out electrics, melted piston and carbs being out of tune.
Any ideas?
Thanks for any imput.

I've got money on the following -you are using Wynn's race formula octane boost and or you've run too much ocatne boost followed by not driving the car at Full Tilt. I find that this generally fowls spark plugs.
Read: optimax + octane boost + normal driving (idling etc) + pretty rich AFR = fowled plugs / farting / breaking down.
Please let us know how it goes.

Yeah, I haven't been driving it flat out latley.
I did get new plugs though, maybe I should dump this tank of fuel and just run som premium.

what heat range plugs are you using??? if they keep fouling, maybe they are too cold and not burning the crap off... i had that with 7's, but 6's are much better (NA motor). or you could just drive it like it's meant to be driven
so, what range are you running? if it's *'s and NA.. oops.
i like YelloRolla's ideas.... just drive it harder.... sounds like you just 'have to' give it a bootful every 3 K's
heh heh

doesn't sound like you really need the octane boost.
just run it on 98 fuel (optimax, bp ultimate, mobil 8000) and retard the timing a little bit

Yah, I was running 7's, now 6's.
I've sorted it all out now, was about to post up it's all good.
Cylinder number 2's jet had worked it's way loose.
Fixed it in 2 minutes
LOL, I feel so stupid now.
