162 came out with single piston calipers. 165 came out with twin-spot calipers. I think the disks are the same.

Disks are the same, but I am fairly sure that the early 165 86-87 had single pot calipers like the ST162, while the later ST165 88-89 had twin pot front calipers.

Jeff,
First off....congrats on getting the car home and into the garage. What colour is it ? (The car not the garage !)
Your avatar ?
Congrats for your birthday as well.
And I had to miss the oldskool cruise as well, not happy either !
Without comparing 162 and 165 rear calipers side by side I would bet a left testicle that they are identical, and I might be able to confirm that tonight in some old paperwork at home.
DBA and other aftermarket/overseas cattle-dogs list the exact same specs for the rear rotors and the rear brake pads for both these cars, so I am assuming that they are the same calipers.
That being the case, Repco or Perth Brake Parts in Welshpool would be able to help you with a kit for the rear calipers.
The fronts are another story, and I don't know offhand what kit will fit them. Its likely they are made by Sumitomo and therefore parts will be readily available.
I would suggest pulling a caliper off the front and taking it to Perth Brake Parts and I am sure that they can help you out.
Cheers,
Mitch.

Thanks, I am feeling old, thats for sure. I think I will take them down to PBP and see what they can do for me like you said.
As for the car, it is the one in my avatar. Just doing some work on it to get it ready for registration. Had to take off the sump, diff and fuel tank guards, take out the bolt in roll cage, put some carpet in it and little bits and peices. I am not sure if it has the stock turbo or not(cant see ct26 on it anywhere). Has HKS fuel cut defender and EVC.
I will post up some pics and description of what it has in the members section once it is licensed.
Cheers
Jeff

Jeff,
Forget what I said before about rear 162 and 165 brakes being the same. I can't confirm that now.
But the good news is that Toyota list the same part number for the brake caliper reseal kits for both the 165 and the 185, so if you rock into PBP with a front and rear caliper and start with the 185 kits, you should be fine.
Sounds like you have the makings of a great rally car. If there is no CT26 on the turbo it won't be stock. I've got some other questions for you, but they are off topic so I will send you a PM.
Cheers,
Mitch.
