Hey dood,

With your speedo and tacho, how did you get it do give you the correct readings, or have you not fixed/calibrated it yet ?

I did a 1g conversion into my ra65 and the speedo is stuffed.. Called up a mechanic and he wanted $150 to fix it for me. Is this reasonable/correct?

Thanks

Les,
On my ra28, the 1hhte box fitted up to my existing speedo. if your speedo is broken, check the wreckers.
As for the tacho, you will have to have it recalibrated. i had mine done at a guage shop in Newcastle - the fitted a new circuit board to handle the high current and convert it to 6 cyl, and this board runs the orig tacho.

Hi fella's, thanks Brett glad you like it.
Les, my original speedo cable went straight into the supra box and the tacho i just connected to 1 of the coils and it works fine. Its out about 300rpm compared to the computer.

Stew, i have been working on the car every night this week and its almost done. Its been cut and buffed and had underneath and in the boot painted as well.
I have wired it all up and put the battery in the boot, made custom crossmember and i had to modify the exhaust to fit the 3in under a car 2in off the ground!! I will have it going Monday night, but i still need a bumper and dyno tune. I am trying to get it done in time for the dyno day and cruise so if money permits ill be there.

Jamie.

Jamie,
I think you must have made a mistake... $400000??? Shouldn't that be $40000??? Unless you are crazy enough to spend 400 grand on a TA22...

Yeh dudes, I owned this car for 6 months damn it was quick, and super cool too...

I sold it back to another guy who bought off Jamie, due to no engineers certificate, some minor engine problems/ body dents, and the car wasnt that greatly built.
Plus everyone kept touching the car, this was a weekend car, Plus had some illegal mods too it unfortunatley.

I damn regret selling it now, Should have gone poor for awhile and got it to legal specs. Now the car is in Brisvegas.

I got the car cruisin at 200km/ per hour down the M4 one day. F#ck I was flying.

Bought it for $8000, sold it for $9200

Jamie how much does your put out at the wheels???
Reason for askin, thinking about gettin one old school celica but with a 1ggte in it. But theres one with your motor in it for sale which im interested in, I dont know much about them though.

Re: JAMIE'S CELICA - MRTA22 Mon, 23 August 2004 02:02 Go to previous messageGo to next message
The previous owner had left the battery loose in boot and bashed out dents in the rear, oil was starting to leak into spark plug area, therefore I think the rings were going. Interior needed some work, with custome console needing new material. The dash was missing the wood grain face on it. Needed the rear small windows to be fixed.

It was damn awesome car, but I neeeded an every day car. Couldnt park it any where as there wasnt an alarm only a kill switch, plus people were constantly touching it, and I was getting paranoid.

*The 3t gteu motor is friggin nuts. Im considering building my own version of a TA22 or similar in the future with this motor. They were claiming like over 4oohp at 25psi or something like that with the custom manifold.* This car could beat a 911 turbo porsche down the straight at wakefield park, if that doesnt convince you I dont know what will!!!!!!!!!!!
