GZE insurance help

going to buy a 4AGZE and wanna know what the best insurance company would be.
i have no driving offences one at fault crash and am 20
only want third party
just talked to just cars and they quoted $504 but my excess is $1400!!!!! 
that to me seems a little high
any help would be appreciated

That sorta price seems normal. I'm 22, clean record, and was quoted about $400 3rd party only with a $1250 excess. That was sprinter with 4AGZE and other associated goodies.
Basically, young, male, modified and powerful car = not insurance company's favorite.
I don't mind too much about the excess. I plan never to have to pay it, and if I do then at least I'm not forking out the $75,000 for what used to be a Merc.
