NGK Spark plugs BP6EY $2 each!!

****UPDATE****
now only have BP6EY.
**************
Heya ppl,
got my hands on a few sets of these NGK plugs (had to buy bulk from ebay, so have spares) they are BCP6ES and BP6EY. they are basically the same plug, except the 'C' means smaller hex socket, and the last letter 'S'=standard(flat)centre electrode, and 'Y' is V-grooved centre electrode.
both will definitely fit K motors, and i'm pretty sure they fit the 4AC as well. easy to check if they fit your motor and will try to put up a list soon.
the '6' heat range is a little colder than the stock recommended 5's.
these are brand new, and the BCP6ES are in nissan packets, but are definitely NGK plugs and are marked as such. exactly the same as in the yellow boxes.
sold at Supercheap for $3.95 each, asking for $2 each plus postage (not much for spark plugs )
i'm in sydney, newtown.

Stephen Gunter (for those that know of him) recommended the NGK BCP6ES for the 4AGZE.
from http://www.ngkspark.com.au/ (you can check what plugs are recommended there, go to "part finders" "find a spark plug")
should fit:
all K motors
4AC,
some 4AG (some have BK style)
2T, 3T
18R,21R
2S
3SFE, 3SGE (the BCP type)
5M,
7M, 7MGTE (BCP type)
basically the BCP will fit wherever BP is required, but uses the smaller style spark plug socket. i believe they come with 0.8mm gap but i'll check. the BP will not fit where BCP is specified as the spark plug tubes will prolly be smaller.

from http://www.ngkspark.com.au/
1983 - 1986 Toyota Corolla 1.6L 4A, 4AC, 4A-L
Spark Plug Part No. Plug Gap
Recommended Plug BP5EY 0.8
1986 - 1989 Toyota Corolla 1.6L 4AC
Spark Plug Part No. Plug Gap
Recommended Plug BPR5EY-11 1.1
these plugs are BP6EY, so for the 83-86 are an exact fit but colder heat range than standard (6 is colder than 5)
for the 86-89 the recommended plug is same size, but has internal resistor (to minimise stray electrical noise?) and plug gap is bigger..
0.8mm gap on the v-groove plug should be fine.
what plugs are you running now?
they weigh 50 grams each, so postage for 4 will be $3, but postage for 8 wil be $4.

well, i bought 48 as a bulk lot
i want 16 for my car, 16 are spoken for, so that leaves..
16 still available.
i'm not too fussed if i sell em or not, i will use them eventually....
if you don't want to get them from me, look on ebay, there is a woman there, Nel, who puts different plugs up pretty often.

well, it's up to you to look at www.ngkspark.com.au and your engine manual to see if it is suitable (i don't really care and would rather not sell you something you are not sure of) i am not a business and am not in a position to say if they will definitely fit or not
all i know is,
the site named above lists the toyota sprinter 83-86 1.6L 4AC as using the BPR5EY plug, which means it is exactly the same as the BP6EY but the BP6EY has no internal resistor, and is a colder heat range, for higher performance motors in which standard plugs are 'too hot', and a 'colder' plug is necessary.
as i said before, i don't care if i sell em or not if it was my mums car, i'd use them (if she drove like me heh heh)
it's your call if they are suitable for you or not.

http://www.vsource.org/VFR-RVF_files/NGKSparkPlugC odes.htm
B is 14mm thread diameter
with only B, hex socket is 20.6mm
BC is 14mm thread with 16mm hex socket (for skinny plug tubes like the 7MG apparently)
P is projected insulator nose (stick a few mm further into the combustion chamber)
R is Resistor type. resistors were put into spark plugs, afaik, to reduce electrical noise that turned up in radios and possibly sensor wires for ECU's. all a resistor plug does is reduce the amount of current that can go through the plug.
E is 19mm thread reach.
Y is v-grooved plug
-11 means 1.1mm spark plug gap. no number means 0.8mm gap as standard (which is what these are.)
Ed picked up his plugs on saturday and i have 8 of the BCP6ES left. wanna take them all off my hands?? i was going to use them as 2 sets for my mums AE82, but i can use them or the BC6EY's.. doesn't worry me sicne they will do the same job
postage for either 6 or 8 will be $4.

oki rob, no worries.
if you want to get in touch with the person i got them from, their email is:
nel6969@hunterlink.net.au
and their nick on ebay is nel6969
she's great to deal with, so just ask what plugs she can get in your range. she's going to put some more up on ebay soon, and they usually go for between $30-60 for 20 plugs.
maybe grab a few fellow 1GG buds and do a group buy (i love bulk buying )
