Supercharging 18rc

I can get hold of a cheap 4agze supercharger and I heard that these can be mounted to a 18rc esaly. What I was thinking of doing was either use a blow thru carbu set-up with an intercooler or a suck through setup lowering the compression. My question is has anyone tried this, any help with blow through setups would be handy.

a mate of mine has a 4agze s/charger mounted to his mazda 929 2litre.. it responds well to the forced induction, because i think the motor is the turbo'd variant from the factory and has low comp. and bit stronger internals.. He uses a suck-thru setup(yuck) with a single SU carby mounted infront of the sc12(?), which then travels up and around and down into the manifold..
Its fairly snipered, but doesnt have much balls off the boost, because i think it must be setup way rich and retarded for when the sc kicks in, at the flick of the bypass valve switch.
BUT the 18Rc is an incredibly tough motor(well from what i found) and in my opinion it would go heaps well with a little boost.. Just hope your gaskets are nice and tuff too cos thats what mite feel the pain..
if youre going to do it, make a custom efi, or go blow-thru then at least you could have an intercooler before the carby..
I dont think my mate will be driving his car much in summer after i told him how hot superchargers get...
go for it man, 18rcs should be put to use more like this..

Good luck with the mods and keep us posted. I just did a quick search and came up with a few articles on turboing 18r-c but not s/c them, i guess you might have to do a little bit of porting on the head because they dont lend themselves to very good flow in stock form
